Dear Newsletter Subscriber,

We have some updates on the development status of eBlocker:

eBlockerOS 4 beta: Stable, but with a minor bug
The beta version of eBlockerOS 4 is running extremely stable. However, there is a rare bug in one of our central open source components, the Squid proxy. Especially with fast web servers and high internet bandwidths, this can sometimes cause websites to “hang” and only load after a few seconds. The bug has already been fixed by the Squid developers, but we still need to eliminate it in our version of eBlockerOS.

Migration from eBlockerOS 3 to 4: Coming soon
Unfortunately, due to low income following the last donation appeal, we are unable to accelerate development "with money". As soon as the bug in Squid is fixed, we will begin implementing the full backup. This will enable easy migration to the latest version of eBlockerOS.
If you are technically savvy, not afraid of reconfiguration and want to use a Raspberry Pi 5, we recommend switching to eBlockerOS 4 now. The data throughput of the Raspberry Pi 5 enables eBlocker protection of 1,000 Mbit/s connections without any loss of speed.
We advise users of the white cubes with little technical knowledge to wait for the final version 4. We expect to complete all work on eBlockerOS 4 before the end of this year.

Error updating credit cards: Please contact us
Our donation software “Give” has a confirmed bug that occurs when updating credit cards. If you are affected by this, please contact us at office@eblocker.org so that we can find an individual solution. According to the vendor, the bug should be fixed soon.

IT infrastructure migration completed: Improved email delivery and security
We have modernized our IT infrastructure and changed our email provider. The new provider also offers DKIM signatures, which enable improved email delivery and ensure that spammers cannot send emails using our domain.

Our also new web server now runs on the latest operating system version and works optimally with our WordPress-based content management system. These changes mean that we are very well positioned for the future and can develop new features much more quickly.

Thank you for supporting us on this journey!

Best regards,
Boris, Christian and the entire eBlocker team
