Hello Newsletter Subscriber,

Today we have many good news for you again:

Financial situation stable
We feel reassured that the financial situation has stabilized very quickly after the call in the last newsletter. Especially due to many new and returning donors. A very warm thank you for that! You are awesome 👍
Now we are looking much more relaxed into the future and can cover all costs - even if our financial flexibility remains tight.

No emails in case of license expiry
Unfortunately, there is still an unpleasant bug in the donation software we use: If a donor donates for a license key and cancels the annual donation, no email is sent about the license expiration. In consequence eBlockerOS updates are no longer delivered without you noticing it immediately. Because in eBlockerOS this is not shown at the moment.

Important: If you canceled your annual donation for daily updates, please check the expiration date yourself using the original email donation confirmation. In doubt, update to the open source license (key "FAMLFT-OPENSOURCE"), so that you are still protected. Of course you can also donate again and will then receive automatic daily updates again.

Donors who did not cancel their annual donation don't need to act. The license key will be automatically renewed at the end of the license period and you are always fully protected - without any manual intervention.

Website updates - major forum update coming soon
As part of the ongoing website maintenance we have successfully completed the first phase. With the update we actualized the used software components as well as fixed some structural bugs. For example, when calling up the English documentation, the English menu is now correctly displayed - and not the German, which often caused irritation.
In the course of September we are planning a major update for the forum. This will change the look as well as add new features. More about this after the update.

IPv6 implementation for eBlockerOS 3
The IPv6 implementation funded by German DEVK Insurances is progressing. All eBlocker standard functions for detecting and blocking trackers/ads as well as IP anonymization via VPN are already transitioned. But there is still a lot to do - especially for Tor support, eBlocker Mobile as well as the Personal Device Firewall. Currently, we are still investigating a newly introduced, severe bug that leads to a memory overflow. As soon as the bug is fixed, we plan to have a first alpha test with our supporter team. When exactly eBlockerOS 3 with IPv6 support can be released will be decided by the test as well as the progress on the still open tasks.

A tip at the end: For sustainability reasons we recommend to run eBlockerOS on a Raspberry Pi or Banana Pi due to low power consumption. But if you run a media server, a NAS or a home network server 24/7 anyway, the eBlockerOS VM-Edition is also a good alternative. It runs 100% stable on all platforms and we have now also added the community images for Synology, Qnap, HyperV, ESXi, Proxmox and Unraid to the eBlockerOS VM-Edition install instructions.

Best regards
Boris, Christian & the whole eBlocker team
