Idea: Grouping of devices within the GUI of eblocker

Hi,

I just spent some time figuring out that my computer was connected to two networks—one LAN and one Wi-Fi. And I had trouble with eblocker not working correctly. Now I’ve correctly named both connections and configured both using eblocker.
While doing so, I came up with an idea for a feature: What if the GUI allowed you to logically group two devices together? For example, “My PC” with two entries—one for LAN and one for Wi-Fi. Since there are also other computers with two LAN ports, etc., this could be a helpful way to organize them (logically/GUI)

Safari 27.0 settings reloading loop

There seems to be an issue in the latest Safari 27.0 on macOS.

If you open the settings in the browser with

http://EBLOCKER_IP/

Safari permanently reloads the page while switching the URL. For example, if you are not logged in as admin, it switches between

/settings/#!/login
/settings/#!/auth

There are some workarounds to avoid or break the loop:

Open the settings with HTTPS.
Hit the ESC key multiple times to break the loop. Then press the browser's reload button.
Open the dashboard

first, then open the settings clicking on the gear icon in the upper right corner.

eblocker is stuck in an update loop

Hello, everyone. I've had eblocker almost since the beginning. But I'd like to use the forum to ask about this problem.

For the past few hours, eblocker has been stuck in an update loop.

When you go to http://192.168.178.22/settings/#!/login, the following appears:

After clicking “Open Dashboard,” this appears after a short while:

After accessing this link: http://192.168.178.22:3000/settings/#!/devices/list/ and navigating to License > Update this:

After that, I'm tempted to use “System > Restart” to restart or shut down the system, and this appears:

What can I do? Should I disconnect the power anyway?

Linux Mint - Vivaldi Browser - HTTPS

Hi everybody,

Not sure which part of the Topic is relevant. eBlocker works flawlessly for my iMac, iPad and iPhone.

Have an 'Aluminium' MacBook5.1 which i didn't use because it was extremely slow, in spite of a new SSD drive. So i dumped OS X El Capitan, installed Linux Mint and ran into the following.

On all my Apple-devices i use the Vivaldi Browser because (IMHO) it is better than Safari and the latter doesn't sync anymore notwithstanding hours (!) of phone-support by Apple for my iMac. For both Linux and Vivaldi i enclose a screenshot with info.

Now, when trying to install an eBlocker certificate in Vivaldi, i get (see screenshot)

where the button to Import the certificate in the appropriate database is GRYED OUT and i can't use the eBlocker properly for my MacBook (still a very nice and skillfully engineered machine!).

Don't know where/what the problem is; maybe it's me :-( but if somebody could give a hint?

Cancellation of Donation does not work

Threema App not working any more with eBlocker enabled

Hi,

I have been experiencing a problem with the Threema app (iPhone, iOS) for some time now. As a Trusted App, it worked perfectly fine for years. Since one of the latest updates, however, Threema no longer works properly.

When I try to send a message, a “?” now appears in Threema’s message status. If I deactivate eBlocker and send a message, then everything works well It then also starts sending the previously "?"-marked ones. Similarly, messages reception does not work. I receive a notification from iOS when a message is sent to me, but then I do not see any messages within Threema unless I deactivate eBlocker.

Of course I tried to snoop traffic using the manual recording of connections within eBlocker, but there is nothing recorded. I mean the window which shows the connections stays empty.

Long story short: I have no clue what happened to Threema and I cannot trace the issue using the provided functions within eBlocker.

Is there any way to debug that? Does anyone else has the same problems with that app?

eBlocker x86 Directions Inaccuracy

Hi there

I am not sure where to mention this but I had a bit of confusion when I was getting started. On the main eBlockerOS Download page, it mentions that OS3 is no longer being supported and getting updates. But on the page "Boot eBlockerOS directly on PC", it points to a download for OS version 3 when "Boot-Image Download" is selected. Only the x86 OS image can be found on the forum when ideally it should be on the main website. Because of this, it is slightly unclear if OS3 for x86 is still being supported or not.

Additionally, it mentions a minimum disk size of 8GB but the disk image is not quite 8GB. And since most 8GB USB's/SSD are slightly smaller than 8GB from the factory, it won't fit on a 8GB SSD. Either the disk image should be shrunken down to fit on an 8GB SSD or the directions should be updated to require a 9GB USB/SSD. Using either disk image and trying to flash on an 8GB device will fail when using Etcher.

Other than those two things, I was able to get it working so far and just testing things out.

How to add a PCIe HATs with 2.5 gb port to my eblocker?

Hello, due to a faster network I would like to add to my eblocker a 2.5 gb port via an M.2 adapter card (PCIe TO M.2 USB HAT+) - partly out of curiosity. Does anybody as dev experience with that?

I know that the eblocker linux is pretty closed and did not succed so far, to add the PCIe adapter card properly - I still have an activation challenge. I am using a pi5. Hint: I do have access to the underlyings (Unless you are a developer with root access to eBlockerOS with deeper knowledge of handling device drivers and IP-tables, this is not feasible.). Any hint, also to the correct forum is welcomed.

eBlocker Download Image and converter scripts for x86 UEFI Systems

I figured since eBlocker doesn't provide a UEFI compatible image, I figured I would take it upon myself to make a script that can make one. I have a link to some scripts that I made that takes in the x86 image and makes it UEFI compatible. This is because most of the newer thin client PC's on the market are UEFI only and don't have a CSM mode. Not to mention that any chrome boxes converted to have a UEFI bios also don't support legacy CSM boot either.

I also have some prebuilt releases that are already UEFI compatible and all that needs to be done is to use Etcher to flash it to a SSD or use the "Disks" tool from a Linux Mint Live USB and then flash the image to the internal SSD as well.

There are two images since the stock image won't fit on an 8GB USB/SSD so I made a second one that shrinks the partitions a little bit and it should fit on an actual 8GB SSD.

I have tested my standard images on a HP Chromebox G2 and it seems to be working fine and I was able to get all the images working in a VM as well.

Feel free to give it a shot and hope this helps somebody else.
