Exactly five years ago today, we were on the brink. Our company was insolvent, our dreams shattered, our life's work in danger. Everything we had created since 2014 to protect your

online privacy and to make the world a little bit better, was in risk of simply disappearing.

The first Christmas miracle

But we didn't just want to give up. Despite many setbacks, we joined forces and bought the eBlocker technology from the insolvency administrator at Christmas 2019. Our goal was to continue eBlocker as a non-profit open source initiative, supported by donations and a shared vision of better digital privacy.

Thanks to your donations, the first Christmas miracle was accomplished after just one day and funding for the project launch was secured. 🚀

5 years of successful development

Today, on our fifth birthday as an open source project, we look back with pride. Only thanks to your continued support and a small, passionate team of volunteers have we achieved what seemed impossible back then: eBlockerOS is alive!
|
Our software is stable, we have continuously improved it, and with the upcoming eBlockerOS 4, we will launch the next generation in 2025 - optimized for the new Raspberry Pi 5. But the progress of our project is once again at a crucial point.
|
We had hoped that our commitment to digital self-defense would meet with a greater response. But the reality is unfortunately sobering: the number of users and willingness to donate are stagnating, while costs are rising.
