Hello Newsletter Subscriber,
Today we would like to inform you about good news in September:
Successful changeover of donation model We are very happy that the new donation model "automatic updates for donors" is very well accepted. With the income we have received so far, we have not only been able to cover the Q2 deficit, but we are also very pleased to be gaining new supporters daily. It actually looks good for this trend to continue and thus we will succeed in stabilizing our eBlocker project financially in the long run. A big thank you at this point to all donators - and that we received a lot of understanding for the change. You are great!
All features and updates remain free of charge Apparently we did not communicate clearly enough in the last newsletter. Therefore we would like to repeat the info again: Everyone still gets all features for free. Also the curated filter updates incl. licensed filters are provided daily for free - and not only once a month. To update, you can simply click on the "Check now" button under Settings>License & Update>Update tab at any time. Done.
In addition, eBlocker also reminds you if an update exceeds 30 days. So all users are still well protected - even without a donation. Those who prefer more comfort will receive a license key for daily automatic updates as a gratitude for donating.

eBlockerOS 2.7.7 Update In the night to September 17th 2021 we have published a bugfix release for eBlockerOS 2.7. This primarily contains small improvements in the dashboard and other bug fixes. Here are the full release notes.
Note: The eBlockerOS updates mostly contain important security fixes and we therefore recommend to update regularly. Especially users of older versions should update to 2.7.7 now.
New features in eBlockerOS 2.8 Already in October we plan to release eBlockerOS 2.8. Besides small improvements, the release will contain two new - initially still experimental - features: The "eBlocker Doctor" for analyzing the eBlocker setup, which automatically gives hints for improving the settings for beginners as well as technical experts. Additionally, we will release initial support for "Scriptlets", which bring improved blocking capabilities. This can be used in particular to prevent "first party fingerprinting" tricks as well as "in-video ads" - such as on Youtube 😊. More on this in the next newsletter.

GIZ Coffee Break Sessions For the Academy of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), we held four so-called "Coffee Break Sessions" in the last few weeks and received great feedback. The goal of the presentations was to present the challenges and opportunities for protecting online privacy. In these sessions, we made an active contribution so that GIZ's "Digital Pioneers" can disseminate the knowledge they have gained internationally and thus also help people in emerging countries to improve their online privacy. Many thanks for inviting us to the presentation, dear GIZ!
Thanks to the best team Finally, a big thank you to our international, very dedicated team of volunteers who spend their free time not only to develop important features, but also to help the project in support, quality assurance and documentation. It's great to have you all on board! You want to join? Just send us an email: voluntary@eBlocker.org
