Hello Newsletter Subscriber,
After our little joke at the beginning of the month, today we have a "regular" newsletter again with updates about the latest eBlocker developments:
April Fool's joke very well received The positive user feedback of the last years to our "traditional" April Fool's joke was surpassed this year by a multiple: The eBlockerOS update 4.1 with AI-supported radiation protection excited many and was also liked and shared on Mastodon and other social media. Thanks to everyone who laughed about it as much as we did when we created it. We actually had some help from "the AI" on this one. So part of the applause also goes to ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion 😉

DEVK sponsors feature "Online Time" We are very happy about the decision of DEVK Versicherungen to continue their active engagement for data and youth protection by sponsoring an eBlocker feature. With the new eBlocker youth protection feature "Online Time", DEVK underlines their goal to promote a more conscious online use among children and teenagers. In the future, eBlockerOS will show how much time individual users spend online with which service categories. However, blocking services is not planned for the feature, because the focus is on enabling more conscious decisions via more transparency. Similar to Apple's familiar "screen time" feature, eBlockerOS will provide cross-device overviews of online usage in the future without compromising the privacy of young users. We will start this feature development immediately after the completion of the IPv6 implementation, which is also funded by DEVK Versicherungen, and plan to finish it before the end of this year.
Project continuation not possible without donations We would like to take this opportunity to thank DEVK Versicherungen once again for their continuous support. Because due to decreasing donation contributions and increasing costs, a continuation of our altruistic project would no longer be possible without this help.
At the moment we are really turning over every cent and fighting against the continuing deficit. Therefore we are really happy about every collaboration and even the smallest contribution from the community, so that we can ensure the further development of eBlockerOS:

Status IPv6 Implementation Without further donations, the IPv6 implementation is progressing slower, as this giant project cannot be accelerated with voluntary work alone. Nevertheless, all big hurdles are now overcome and we plan to start the internal alpha test in the circle of eBlocker supporters at the beginning of May. We have added more details in the already known IPv6 progress blog article. Improved Privacy Check We have further improved the Privacy Check page to detect even the very latest devices. At the same time, we have also made the test results visually clearer and added more features. For example, we now also show the time zone, language, and other device features such as camera or touchscreen. In the near future, we plan to implement - actually with the support of AI - new tracker and ad blocker detection features for the check page. We will keep you up to date on this in the newsletter.
