Hello Newsletter Subscriber,
For the weekend an update about the current developments at eBlocker:
Google Sponsorship April Fool's Day: Q1 fundraising goal reached.
We were very happy about the great response to our April Fool's joke. It's great that you didn't hold it against us and that we not only reached our Q1 donation goal, but even exceeded it with 3%. Thank you, you are awesome!
We immediately credited the 3% "surplus" to Q2. However, despite this advance, we are still well behind the cost coverage for Q2 with a current goal achievement of 8%. Therefore we would like to call for donations again, so that we can continue to operate eBlocker, daily updates and the licensed filters in the future.

Auto Trust App: Improvement of App Compatibility
Starting with eBlockerOS 2.6, we have released a very first test version of the Auto Trust App feature. The first results are very promising and we expect to eliminate almost completely any compatibility issues with native apps with its finalization. Currently, we are "fine-tuning", eliminating identified shortcomings and still performing optimizations. We hope that with eBlockerOS 2.7 in summer we can also release the Auto Trust App for all users.
eBlockerOS runs stable on Raspberry Pi 3
We have now tested eBlockerOS 2.6 extensively on the Raspberry Pi 3 and it runs absolutely stable. The feedback of one user about instabilities was apparently due to a defective SD card or a hardware problem. eBlockerOS can now be used again on all Raspberry Pi with at least 1GB RAM.

Status Personal Device Firewall (PDFW)
The development of the DEVK Insurances sponsored PDFW is progressing well, but there is still a lot of work ahead. As a reminder: With the PDFW, it will be possible to monitor the contacted domains from any device (e.g. a SmartTV) in the dashboard and block or allow them on a device-specific basis. Next to this is a small glimpse of the user interface - still as a design sketch / mockup. We plan to release a first version of the PDFW with eBlockerOS 2.7 in summer.

Crowdfunding lecture launched
As you know, the current donations only cover the operating costs and we don't have funds to hire developers who develop new features full time. In order to implement your feature requests faster in "eBlocker 3", we are planning a new funding by "the crowd".
With our experience from two successful crowd-funding campaigns, we have been accompanying a virtual lecture with 21 students at the UE-Germany University in Hamburg since the beginning of April to develop the campaign together. It's a lot of fun to work with the students and we hope to go live with the campaign at the end of the semester. In any case, we will keep you up to date via newsletter - and then we will also reveal the secret of what's on the roadmap for eBlocker 3...
Student poll: Please help
In order to develop a suitable communication strategy for the crowdfunding campaign, we would appreciate your help. The better we know our users, the better we can anticipate and meet their information needs. To this end, the students have developed three questions and we are all looking forward to your participation. Your vote counts - and you remain completely anonymous. To the poll >>

Satisfied? Please spread the word!
Currently eBlockerOS downloads are stagnating at 1,000 per month and the daily website visitors are unfortunately slightly decreasing. As you know, we don't have a budget for marketing or public relations and therefore we depend on "spreading the word" to keep eBlocker running in the long run.
If you are satisfied with your eBlocker, we would be very happy if you share this in your circles. For example via a post in the social media, in forums or in direct contact. Every support helps us a lot!
Only together can we stand up to the data giants and offer more people an Internet as it should be: anonymous, self-determined and free of manipulation.
Many thanks for your help!
Best regards from Hamburg
