Hello Newsletter Subscriber,

Today we have again some news for you:

eBlockerOS 3 in preparation
The development of eBlockerOS 3 is progressing well. Besides the IPv6 support, the new version will bring many important improvements "under the hood". Among many other things, we have optimized the integration of the eBlocker Icon and ControlBar, so they are now displayed on basicly all websites. With this we eliminate a deficit that still irritates many users today. Because even without displaying the icon, eBlocker works seamlessly and blocks all trackers etc. - only you don't see this on the user interface.
We are currently preparing the update to eBlockerOS 3 beta and hope to be able to tell you more about the release date shortly.

Updates behind the scenes
Beyond the big software updates of eBlockerOS, we continuously maintain the protection mechanism of eBlockerOS "behind the scenes". For example, we update the filters for pattern recognition of trackers and advertisements on a daily basis and also receive daily updated commercial blocking lists from Malware-Patrol against dangerous malware and phishing attacks.
The German Federal Agency for the Protection of Children and Young People in the Media (Bundeszentrale für Kinder- und Jugendmedienschutz) provides us with the latest child protection lists on a monthly basis, and the categories for the parental control filters are also updated daily in order to protect the youngest surfers from harm in the best possible way.
In addition, we regularly include new "Trusted Apps" submitted by users as soon as we have manually reviewed them in the team.

Important: To benefit from the ongoing updates and to be fully protected at all times, we recommend to update eBlockerOS manually on a regular basis or rather to activate the automatic daily updates.

Volunteers wanted
Our non-profit project is financed exclusively by donations and is primarily driven by volunteers. As in any open source project, however, the number of contributors is dynamically fluctuating: Of our total of around 20 contributors, just under ten contribute regularly, and the "hard core" usually consists of six people who come from very different backgrounds. Especially in software development (in Java and AngularJS) but also in public communication we could very well use more help to become faster.
Do you feel like joining us in our efforts to protect privacy? Then feel free to send us an informal email to voluntary@eBlocker.org and we'll be happy to welcome you to our team. By the way: As a thank you, all contributors receive a license key for automatic daily updates as well as access to the latest development release 👍

The best for last: Our community
We are incredibly proud of our contributer team, but also very thankful for our great community. After all, our project does not live on direct collaboration alone, but it could not exist at all without donations, feedback and suggestions from the community.
We are especially happy about the thanks we receive from you. A short "Keep going - I don't wanna go online without my eBlocker" is the biggest motivation for us. So once again a big thank you to all eBlocker users, donators, supporters and feedback givers. You are our base and encourage us every day to go on! And we are determined to go on, since only together we can stand up to the data giants 😎

Greetings from Hamburg
Christian, Boris and the whole eBlocker team

PS: We are currently fixing a bug in the Video Ads & Content Blocker that unfortunately results in ads currently being displayed on YouTube. Read more here.
