Hello Newsletter Subscriber,
Today we have a lot of exciting news for you again:
The search for the cause of the memory leak in the IPv6 implementation, which we reported about in the past, was unfortunately very complex and time-consuming. The bug has finally been found after two months of intensive analysis - and after first tests it has been finally fixed. We plan to test a first eBlockerOS version including IPv6 in the circle of eBlocker supporters soon. Depending on the feedback, we hope to release eBlockerOS 3 with IPv6 support in early 2023 despite the unexpected delay.

Community Trusted Apps - Process Optimization
We were very happy about the lively participation of our community in sharing user-defined Trusted Apps. However, we have been surprised by well over 100 submissions and have unfortunately not been able to process them well so far. Therefore, we have now completely redefined the process and distribute it among more people. Our biggest challenge for ensuring trusted app quality: The identification of unnecessary domains, potential trackers, fixed IP addresses as well as the addition of the often missing app descriptions. Since we are not familiar with many submitted Trusted Apps, it currently takes us a lot of time to identify and approve the shared Trusted Apps. In the next maintenance release, we will therefore introduce improvements so that Trusted Apps with IP addresses and/or without descriptions cannot be sent to us at all.

eBlockerOS 2.10 Maintenance Release in November
The maintenance release planned for November will contain the mentioned improvements for Trusted Apps, as well as many smaller bug fixes. In particular, we have implemented improvements for eBlocker Mobile and update the whole operating system platform and software components to the latest security standard. More about this shortly, as soon as the release has been published.

New Forum Software in Operation
As part of the website maintenance activities, we implemented the latest version for our forum at the beginning of October as planned. After some visual adjustments, we are satisfied with the update and are planning successive functional improvements - especially for our non-public supporter forum.

Bugs in Donation Software Eliminated
Together with the software vendor of the donation management system, we were able to identify and eliminate numerous bugs. For example, e-mails are now sent automatically to inform about the renewal of the license key or, in case of a donation cancellation, to inform in time that the license key expires. At the same time, donation management without a password is now possible again.
Even though our financial situation is stable at the moment and we can cover all costs, we would like to remind you again that eBlocker is a non-profit project financed exclusively by donations. 100% of the donations are solely for the benefit of the project and the further development of eBlockerOS.
Therefore we would like to invite you to donate for automatic daily updates if you use eBlocker regularly. This ensures that we can continue to develop eBlockerOS, keep it secure and operate it in the long run. And best of all: You are always protected against the latest tracking tricks - without any manual intervention.
