Hello Newsletter Subscriber,

Today we have again a lot of news for you:

eBlockerOS with IPv6 being tested
Since June 09.23 we are already testing the long developed alpha version of the IPv6 support in the circle of eBlocker supporters. A public beta phase for all users is planned for fall 2023.

If you are technically skilled and brave, you can already test with us: The image of the eBlockerOS 2.11 test version, which is only available for virtual machines, is provided now. The installation and the test are completely at your own risk. A migration to the final release version is not possible with the test version. The current test possibility should therefore only be taken by technically very experienced users. There is also no documentation, no online help and no support available yet. Please download the IPv6 VM-Edition image and give feedback only here in the forum.

Important: IPv6 support is only useful for those who cannot disable IPv6 on the router or the end device. If you have IPv6 disabled already, you will not benefit from the new version!

Use beta features
Last year we introduced all new features, like the Personal Device Firewall or the YouTube / Video Ad Blocker, first as beta versions. All beta features are running without any problems since and changes are not planned, so we will remove the beta status soon. Please feel free to use all eBlocker features, because not everywhere, where it says beta is also beta inside 😉.

Problems with apps? This is how they run smoothly
Some users who have activated eBlocker HTTPS know the phenomenon: A newly installed app sometimes does not work right away. Remedy is usually the activation of the corresponding "Trusted App" (Settings>HTTPS>Trusted Apps), if it has already been predefined. But even without the predefinition, it is easy to record your own Trusted App. This way, any app can be easily used with a small time investment.

Share Trusted Apps
You have already recorded your own Trusted Apps that are not yet included in the eBlocker standard? Then please share them with us: Just click the button "Share app via email" at the app definition. We check each app manually and then include it in the eBlocker standard. This way all users benefit from the app definitions of the community. Join us and help us to make eBlockerOS better for everyone!

Tips & Tricks for the Controlbar Icon
Here are two short tips that every eBlocker user should be aware of:
In case the Controlbar icon covers a webpage inconveniently, you can move it to the other side with a click: Just open the Controlbar and close it again by clicking on the opposite icon.
The icon can also disappear automatically after a few seconds, once a web page has been loaded. You can configure this individually for each device via the settings or the dashboard.

eBlocker future: It gets difficult
Even though our passion to continue driving eBlocker forward is unbroken, we have a big problem: the financing. Unfortunately, the income from donations is decreasing and our capital is completely used up due to the ongoing deficits. If donations continue to fall, we see no possibility of continuing to operate the project beyond 2024. Beyond our commitment, we can no longer privately finance our altruistic project.

Therefore, we would like to invite all eBlocker users once again to support our project with a donation. To avoid further deficits, we would otherwise have to stop providing free filters in the near future for the time being. Please understand that we can only offer our current donors daily updates with tracker and malware filters curated by us for full protection.
Together we can free the Internet from trackers, ads, and malware. We believe in our strong community and thank you very much for your help!

Best regards from Hamburg
Christian, Boris and the whole eBlocker team
