Hi all,

eblocker OS 2.5.4. Beta.

I have one question: I setup in the anonymisation VPN and to hide my OS and browser.

So I chose PC (Linux) while being on Safari iPadOS. When I click on check privacy I am directed to an eblocker site which tells me I am on a desktop, macOS 10.14 with safari browser. Checking on the website amIUnique.org tells me the same thing.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

do you have enabled "device cloacking" for your device?

Works for me and shows with cloaking as linux:

Your device

Desktop

Your browser

Chrome 72.0

Your OS

Chrome OS 72.0

Try to empty browser cache (shift reload in most browsers).

Sure you‘ve checked:device is enabled for eblocker? https on? icon displayed on https? site is not on whitelist / trusted app? etc.

@random Thanks for your quick support. Tried it with safari and also Firefox Focus.

empty browser cache not done. Will try (have to find how).

Checked as you stated just now again: device enabled.https is activated. Icon displayed. Site is not on whitelist or trusted site or something like this. So maybe the cache. I will check tomorrow.

@pio78 Yes, I did. I did not know what it means in English, I use a German version. Yes, I configured Linux and PC.

@random Without VPN activated I get this:

Setup to PC(Windows)

https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/  Chrome72, Windows 10

looks right.

With www.ipleak.net I get this string:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/72.0.3626.121 Safari/537.36

When I then switch on VPN it looks the same.

Then, with VPN switched on, I change to PC Linux I get:

https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/

Operating system
Chrome OS 11316.165.0
Chrome 72

With www.ipleak.net I get this string:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 11316.165.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/72.0.3626.122 Safari/537.36

So looks right to me.

Thanks.

@random as far as I can tell , yes. It took a bit and I was initially not structured in testing. Different platforms, browsers. Some browsers with add ons, once I forgot to disable the local vpn. Things that happen if you can handle all the hw 🤔

@gregor Great! Most of the issues are not in the machine 🤔😉
