When I activate the camouflage in the eBlocker and go to the following page, the correct system information is still read out. I call up the page in "InPrivate-Mode".

https://www.experte.de/browser-privacy-check

But with the eBlocker check link I see that the camouflage should have been successful.

https://eblocker.org/de/privacy-check/

Is there maybe an explanation for this? With best regards Mike

Probably your browser is caching the page still. Try holding "shift" and click reload or empty the browser cache manually.

Thank you very much.

It looks like, that just the site: www.experte.de shows my real information.

The side: https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/   (and also https://www.dein-ip-check.de/# ) shows always the correct camouflage information.

@infoswissmagic-ch eBlocker modifies the so called "user agent" (which is part of the http protocol header) to cloak a device.

If a site ignores the user agent and tries to figure out other browser parameters (i.e. canvas fingerprinting, reading out fonts or window size etc.) by executing client-side JavaScript - results might vary. This is only possible for first party JavaScript that's individually coded for this purpose (as with https://panopticlick.eff.org/)

To make this more clear: eBlocker can not avoid site individual fingerprinting taking place by some JavaScript. If you want to avoid this kind of fingerprinting, you need to disable JavaScript execution in your browser.

Generally I wouldn't be concerned too much, as eBlocker blocks the execution of know third party trackers and JavaScript to avoid this. Only third party trackers (like google-analytics) can build dangerous cross-website personality profiles as they are installed on millions of domains. Here eBlocker kicks in and cloaks your privacy very well 😀 😎

Thank you very much for the explanations. It is more complicated than I was thinking!
I would like to ask a final question:
Does it make sense at the moment to add more blocker lists (e.g. from PiHole) to the eBlocker?
Probably not, but I'm just wondering.

With best regards
Mike

No, unless you really know what you are doing. See here for details: https://eblocker.org/community/main-forum/domain-and-or-pattern-blocker/#post-2062
