Config question

Hi

I have a FRITZ!Box connecting to the surveillance net. For my home network I use a TP link. The TP Link is connected by cable to the FRITZ!Box.

Computer—>TPLink—>FritzBox—>Internet

Currently my eblocker is connected to the FritzBox. When I connect my computer via WLAN to the fritz I can configure eblocker and see it functioning. But eventually I don’t want it this way.

Where would it best to place eblocker? Connected to the TP Link or to the FritzBox? From my understanding, the TP link is considered as a device in my setup above and I can configure eblocker for this device which would mean for all devices connected to the TP Link. Is this correct? In my tests it seemed that when i connect my devices to the TP link, it bypasses eblocker. Dnsleaktest, ipleak.net etc. Indicate this.

Would it make more sense (in case I want to individually configure my devices for eblocker) to connect eblocker to the TP link? Would that work? Any other thing to consider?

thanks

Some more info: I connected the eblocker to the TPLink via Cable. It seems TP Link does not recognise eblocker. It is not shown as a connected device, as in the FritzBox. Any ideas?

Hi,

is your TP-Link device an WLAN repeater?

Do you make with TP-Link an WLAN range extension?

Look at this site: 🧐

https://eblocker.org/kompatibilitaet/

WLAN repeaters are only supportet in lan-bridge mode 🖐️

Give this information an answer to you?

Yes. Configuring each device individually is a must, I feel. So I can use TOR on my iPad while my spouse browses „normally“ using tracker/ad-blocker and the kids are protected from porn on their laptops...

Are you running in auto network mode? Then I‘d try switching to individual/expert and take it from there...

@pio78 Hi

thanks. Yes, it is a repeater to make the network bigger (old house, thick walls).

Ok, then I have to say:

Computer—>Repeater TP LINK—>TP Link Router—>Fritzbox

And the eblocker is connected to the TP Link Router, not the repeater.

I have to admit I have never used Lan Bridge Mode or know what it is. I have a slight idea though.

@random Yes, auto network mode. I just wondered if I could connect it to the Frithbox and hence run all devices through this. I don’t need eblocker in my local WLAN.... But this seems not to work.

@pio78 My repeater is not listed in the list of special devices.

@gregor

with "auto network mode" eBlocker uses ARP Protokoll, that is an problem with WLAN repeaters.

Is it possible that you use "Individual Setting" so that eBlocker gives in your local network the adresses

with ist DHCP Server. In your TP-Link Router you must disable DHCP Server.

Look here the video 023 -- https://vimeo.com/user92153728

Tell me please the result... 🖐️
