I'm considering adding an eBlocker to my network but want to know if it will work with my setup.

I have a MitraStar router supplied by my ISP with a Hardware VPN connected to it which has it's own DHCP server for IP addresses. If I connect the eBlocker on the spare port of the MitraStar, will it be able to detect devices connected to the other router?

Hi,

if your Mitrastar Router allows you to set in the DHCP Options Gateway and DNS, you can set eBlocker in networkmode "Expert". In the DHCP options of your router set eBlocker’s IP as DNS and Gateway.

I‘m not clear what this „other router“ does and where it‘s connected.

Generally eBlocker can protect all devices in the same subnetwork where it‘s connected to (for example, all clients in subnetwork 192.168.0.x).

Background: eBlocker does not route between networks but acts as a transparent gateway to your (Internet) router for all clients in the router‘s subnetwork.

Please consider describing your setup more in detail, if my answer is not helping you further.

THX!
