Hello,

what do these frequent and recurring events mean:

eBlocker02 cleaned

Thank you for your explanation.

@jogi This shows the Ethernet connecting goes down every few seconds and it's not a good sign.

The problem is probably caused by a hardware issue. Either your router, the eBlocker hardware or the cable is broken, I'd suspect. I'd change the cable first.

THX!

Hello Random,

I use the orange cable from the original white cube.

With this it goes into the network socket.

The network socket ends in the switch.

From the switch it goes to port 1 on the FRITZ!Box.

I'll start replacing the cables one by one. Let's see...

@jogi Reading this I would also try to connect eBlocker directly (not via a switch) to the Fritzbox. Some low cost switches might not be compatible with eBlocker's Automatic Network Mode (please double check if that is enabled) but a FritzBox should work fine.

THX!

Hello Random,

I am not in the Automatic Network mode, I have made a screenshot of my settings for you:

eBlocker Netzwerk

The first 15 IPs are reserved (or already set) for static devices and then I have the rest to be set automaticly by the eBlocker. But it is a small private network so there are not more than may be 20 devices active.

...it is an unmanaged switch and I think it is normal, that the switch does not have an own IP adress within the network - right?

Fine. It was just a thought as you did not provide this info with your initial request unfortunately.

I guess so. But please note that this is not a general networking support forum. I try my ver best to help, but can't answer all questions regarding general networking.

All I can say from my perspective is said: Change cable, plugin eBlocker straight to your router. If this does not cure the network up/down issue, change your eBlocker hardware as this is probably not a software issue.

THX!

@Random: It was a hardware issue of the white cube.

After I changed my hardware and these events are gone.

@jogi Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you could fix the issue by swapping the device.

Strange issue and thanks for confirming the hardware fault 👍 White cubes are 7+ years and it's very much good luck they are not failing a lot 🍀

THX!
