Read the eBlocker.com privacy policy first - then judge!

etracker does NO PROFILING and NO dangerous cross website tracking. It‘s legitimate as much as logfile analysis - just realtime and better 😉 Maybe @benne wants to comment as he is the inventor of etracker (and eBlocker)

And: you can simply click no (even not having eBlocker) in the banner not to get tracked.

We‘ll introduce etracker at eBlocker.org as well once I find time for integration...

PLS use deepl.com if in doubt. German is discouraged! I‘ve translated it for you - and made it more meaningful, so people know the topic being discussed. (As this is not a religious forum 😉 )

@random

Not hindered by knowledge, i was only surprised to see a tracker on an eBlocker-page.

Yes, @random is right. I founded etracker in 2000 to help website owners understanding visitor behavior better. With just one purpose: Improving the site to serve visitors even better. My idea was to provide a fully privacy law compliant service that also respects user's privacy - as my heart beats for privacy, data protection and the law.

With etracker we never combine data across websites, we do not build interest profiles, we have no right to use the data for own purposes and we always act 100% according to the law and with respect to the privacy of the visitor.

But during my time at etracker (which I served as CEO until 2013) I got aware of other tracking firms having the opposite in mind: the fully transparent user, gathering user data across all websites, all devices, apps and browsers - building detailed personality profiles that are joined to personally identifiable information. George Orwell is a joke to what's really going on today!

As a professional in the "data scene" I know the dangers of such comprehensive data collection - and I see big risks for our society. That's what drove me to leave etracker and found eBlocker. To give users a tool to regain control over their data - on all devices - without need for individual software installation.

Now, today there is "bad tracking" and "good tracking". What Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon & Co do, is what I'd consider very dangerous and evil. I seriously fear what they do to me - and to our society!

With etracker we always followed the good way, only providing information on how to improve a website - just to the owner and never sharing the data for any other purpose.

And yes, I feel it's legitimate to any website owner knowing how visitors behave on a website as much as it' legitimate for a brick and mortar store owner to count how many people pass by the storefront, enter the store, fill the shopping carts and count the goods bought. That's exactly what etracker provides as a service. Fully compliant to the laws and one can always opt-out with just a click.

That's why we use etracker at eBlocker.com and will soon introduce it here too. I know, it sounds controversial if one considers all tracking is bad. But tracking is not bad if used right and I'm happy to explain more details bringing transparency to the discussion.

Nevertheless, even though etracker is a good tracker, eBlocker blocks all trackers - regardless if they are good or bad - including etracker. So even if users have no clue about what's going on: eBlocker is here to protect against everything.

And if you speak German, please check out my other advances in data protection on the more political and privacy activist level: www.datenschutz-zwecklos.de With this initiative I've moved companies much more quickly to comply to the laws than the German data protection authorities all together.

Yes, I'm a nerd on a mission: Make Privacy Great Again.

Thanks for listening - and sorry for the long post, but that needed to be said 😉

Thank you Benne for your lengthly, but useful explanation.

Until i started using eBlocker in my Dutch home, i had no clue who Mr Christian Bennefeld is, what he had been doing in the past. Let alone what his intentions and/or products such as eTracker were. As from now, that is crystal clear 🙂

Living in Maastricht, only 30 km away from Aachen, my German is as good (or as bad) as my English is and i certainly will have a look at Datenschutz-zwecklos.

Regards, Rob
