Guys,

I am an eBlocker user since early beginning. Used a Raspberry PI 2 before I got the "backed" devices... In the early software was a feature to display and download all the web sites my Smart TV has contacted. I could see what's going on. But I can not find this option in the actual Version....

The feature you mean is available for SSL/HTTPS traffic only (and it always existed but we moved it once). Settings>HTTPS>Communication Failures. Start recording.

We are hearing people asking to monitor contacted domains from a certain devices. And I also want to see what my SmartTV does. But...

At commercial eBlocker times this was very controversial, as we wanted to build a device that prevents surveillance rather than build a device that's meant for monitoring/surveillance of devices (or humans using devices).

It's a tough question. Technically it's fairly easy I guess... and I guess there was a feature request in this regard as well.

We'll surely discuss in the core team once 2.5.x (the open source based eBlockerOS) is available for everyone.

THX!

@stefan albrecht

Thanks much for being a long term user! Spread the word 😉

You might want to check out eBlockerOS on Raspi 4. Compared to all previous platforms UI is really smooth now. 100 Mbit/s throughput incl. all standard filters = no problem. 😎

@benne,

I have the old white cubes ( 3 in total).... AND, a PI4 with 2GB & PI4 with 4GB Ram.

I am thinking that I replace the old white to the 4GB this weekend, depends on if I can transfer the settings.... VPN, etc....

@random,

long story short, I use IPTV's  on Android devices ( MiBOX and Hisense Android TV), and I would like to know who else in in the loop - to avoid unexpected trouble with my ISP.

It is legal in the US, but our President signed a Bill that allows ISP's to prioritize Streaming Services if they are paying for this, like Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu.....

If I would see the communication string of the App and the Devices, I can adjust this in my Firewall....

Now that the eBlocker is open source, is it possible to access it via SSH console?

There is no SSH access and this is off topic. If you feel this question is interesting for everyone else, I‘m happy to answer why and how geeks get access under the right topic.

You mean the user agent sent from each device? or what is meant by „communication string“?

Hi. The Thread "ssh/root access" was closed. The solution remained open.

So please, where can i get Informations about Login to eblocker?

Because i think, it would be a shame not to use the full potential of the RPI4.

Please show us the way.

thank you very much!

Hi @neppumuck,

as it is nothing implemented and not officially wanted, you may search for a solution in the linux world, as there is nothing special for eBlocker.

And if you solved that riddle, it would be great if you join the team 🙂

Regards

Sven
