Hello,
i would like to use the eBlocker in the manual expert mode.
I hav tested many different settings, but failed. The eBlocker test tells me that tere is a different network etc.
Could you give me a hint how to setup my system:
Fritz Box 7590 with dhcp on (192.168.178.1)
eBlocker 2.4.5 on a raspi 3B+ (192.168.178.2 fixed IP)
Which Settings have to be made on Fritzbox (DNS, local DNS) and on eBlocker to get the manual mode working?
Thanks
Hi,
I think for you there are the "Individual Settings" the best.
Because you have a FritzBox and there you can not set th Default Router to the IP of the eBlocker.
So do the following:
1. look for the IP of your FritzBox (you have done)
2. Set eblocker with fixed IP (you have done)
3. Set eBlocke in "individual Settings" so that eBlocker is the DHCP in your Network
4. On Fritzbox deaktivate your DHCP Server!
5. When you reboot/restart the Clients they will get the IP from the DHCP on the eBlocker.
In conclusion:
The Clients get Network-settings from eBlocker, like IP, DNS, Gateway. The Gateway is important so that all IP-traffic goes over the eBlocker.
Look at this Video:

I hope this helps you... let me know 🙂

Thanks for your answer.
I do not plan to replace the DHCP Server of my Fritz Box.
The individual mode is not my preferred way (i have tested it already) ...
cu
but remember you get on your clients the FritzBox as gateway,
that is not the correct function.

I do not plan to replace the DHCP Server of my Fritz Box.
Then it's not going to work!
Background: To protect you, all TCP/IP packets need to hit the eBlocker first (before your router). This can be done either by automatic mode (ARP spoofing) or telling all your devices that eBlocker is the gateway (and setting your router as gateway in eBlocker).
The central service to set the gateway for a LAN clients is the DHCP server. Unfortunately the fritzbox does not allow to set the gateway to a different IP-address. Therefore you need to switch to a more capable DHCP server. eBlocker's DHCP can be one choice but you can use any DHCP that let's your freely set the gateway.
Personally I don't understand why you don't want to switch. If you use eBlocker's DHCP it will scan your network first and all clients will get the same IP as they had before (this also works for static IPs).
Thanks for the clarification.
I will check it out...
