Hi,
My eBlocker (white Cube 2.5.8) has now been running successfully for 4 years 👍  and is an important part of the security devices in my private network (approx. 25 end devices). Therefore I want to be prepared with a backup system in case of a possible technical failure. On the Christmas wish list there is still room for a Pi 4 😉 .
My questions: Can I load the backup file of the Cube into the Pi (after I have installed the eBlocker software there) to have the same configuration ? Do I have to be careful with the licences (the Cube has an eBlockerPro Lifetime) ?
Anything else I should pay attention to ?

Joe

Yes, you can safely Backup and Restore settings on different devices. But be advised that not all parameters are being saved. Please check everything carefully after restore.

No. Just use the per-configured Open Source license are you are doing fine. Then you get extra parental controls with this 😀 😎

I'm not sure if the eBlocker Root Certificate is being backuped (I doubt it).

Nevertheless: For extra security I'd recommend generating a new Root Certificate (Setting>HTTPS>Certificate>RENEW NOW) and install it in all your clients. While doing so, make sure to follow instructions step by step! Otherwise this might result in eBlocker HTTPS not working (most common mistake and question here).

Good luck. It's all gonna be fine 😉

THX - and if it works please consider a donation. We are behind target 😥

Hi random,
thank you for the quick response. Now I only have to wait for the 24th 🙄 to be able to implement everything.
