Hi

when I add a trustworthy app it generates a list of trustworthy websites. E.g. when I select amazon, it shows me a long list of websites. I wanted to delete a few of those but this does not seem to work.

I went on Edit and wanted to select the sites but not check mark was done and no site could be selected and henced removed.

What did I do wrong?

@taipan To me the individual removal of sites from pre-defined trusted apps works just fine (tried iOS Safari, Win Firefox) on eOS 2.5.6.

Might be a browser issue. Which browser are you using? Any additional blocking tools? if so, please disable. JavaScript needs to be enabled...

If it still doesn‘t for you please provide exact step by step details how to reproduce including details about your tech environment and screenshot...

THX!

@random I really appreciate the speed you reply. OK: Safari 14.0 on macOS catalina 10.15.7

No ublock origin or so in safari, no addon activ, nothing. Cookies not blocked, JavaScript active. Little Snitch deactivated. I go to Preferences, HTTPS, trustworthy websites and see a list of Names and Domain/IP entries. For example for amazon. I click on Edit. Greyed out I see delete website and in front of every entry there is a grey box, which i assume to click to mark for deletion. I click, the line turns orange but the box is unchanged.

I tried with Amazon entries, Apple entries, Bitdefender entries and eblocker entries.

In the pic you can see how it looks when I click on the first line of amazon in the grey box in safari on my mac.

Verified this with Firefox 82.0.3 on the same mac. Have also disabled all my protective gear (as far as I can tell).

Have reproduced with Safari on iPad (all newest versions and updates and again, all protections disabled).

@taipan Thanks for the feedback.

I‘m sorry, I can‘t reproduce the described issue.

Just tried again on iPad iOS 13.7 Safari. Works perfectly (see screenshot). I can check individual domains and remove them with a click.

@all Is anyone else experiencing the issue described by @taipan? Maybe a macOS „feature“? Please state your OS/browser if reproducible.

THX!

@taipan I took a closer look to your screenshot and found the mistake:

To remove trusted websites that have been enabled via a Trusted App you need to edit the App (other tab!). Under trusted websites only those websites can be removed that were individually added as Trusted Website. (note the difference!)

But I‘m with you: user guidance can be improved here.

Nevertheless: the feature works just fine if you modify the Trusted Apps (which to me makes totally sense as this is the spot where you grant the trust - not in the trusted website overview).

THX!

@random are we talking about the same thing? Your picture looks a bit different than mine. You have some dots in orange where I have a square with a thicker top line. Maybe I use a wrong view? Or maybe this is an indication to something?

I attach another pic hoping it makes my point clearer. Or do i have another os version or so.

It happens with the eblocker app as well as within safari browser on iPad OS 14.2

BTW: When I go on Trusted Apps and Edit I also cant delete a trusted app. Exactly same behaviour.

What I noticed though: If I enter Trusted Apps and click on the orange arrow at the right sight of amazon, I get a list of IP addresses and a couple of domains with the ip addresses, and here the edit works and it looks more like your screenshot. At least from the orange dots point of view indicatin a square 🙂 Sorry, cant describe.

Here the second picture, I could only attach one to the former post.

@taipan Read the README FIRST under announcements to learn how to add multiple files to a post.

Again how to remove: settings>HTTPS>Trusted Apps>Select desired app. In the detail view click Edit. Select domains to be removed. Click remove. Done.

Regarding the list of Trusted Apps: the predefined app can not be removed (as it makes no sense, since they are centrally curated) but only disabled. Only individually added Apps can be individually removed.

BTW: There is a manual and help videos linked above the forum you might want to check out to get the basics...

THX!

@random Ok, I think I get what you mean. Preconfigured Apps, the websites can only be modified under trusted apps, own added Apps I can modifiy in trusted websites.

Thanks for your help and patience.
