We are currently experiencing issues with our dynDNS demo server used for eBlocker Mobile. This results that domain names can not be resolved sporadically and therefore one can not connect to the home network via eBlocker Mobile.
If you rely on eBlocker Mobile we recommend to use a commercial dynDNS service. Our demo server is for testing purposes only.
We are working to get the server up and running.
THX!
The server is up and running again. We are monitoring the outage issues more closely now but we can‘t guarantee any uptime.
In case you rely on eBlocker Mobile please use a commercial dynDNS services with guaranteed SLAs.
THX!
Thank you for your recommendation of commercial dynDNS. I choose GoIP, but I can not find a hint (or blocker tutorial ) where to key-in the login data of a commercial dynDNS. Furtheron, eblocker mobile setup wizard has no example, which format is required for the dynDNS server. Sorry for bothering again: latest newsletter encouraged me to send more feedback in case of trouble.
Best regards, Klaus Goller
@klaus Thanks for your feedback and question.
DynDNS is always set up in your router as this is the spot where your external IP is set. That‘s why there are no instructions here. But we obviously need to make this more clear.
In case you are using fritzbox we had other users reporting successful dynDNS setup with myfritzbox. In other cases please consult the manual of your Interner router. 99% of the routers are prepared for dynDNS config.
THX!
I finally made it! External GoIP dynDNS and port authorization be UnPN - BUT I had to switch off the eBlocker firewall.
If you like I can send a documentation about the settings at Fritz box, GoIP and eBlocker.
Best regards,
Klaus
BUT I had to switch off the eBlocker firewall
From a technical perspective I wouldn‘t recommend this and fear this is misconfiguration. External IP via dynDNS has technically nothing to do with eBlocker‘s DNS firewall!
THX!
@all
We have found and fixed the issue that caused the DNS service to freeze. Now the sever should run stable again.
Thanks everyone for contributing!
