I installed eblocker 2.8 a few days ago and since then the iPhone Corona Warn App is not able to reach its servers anymore. This is concerning as you don't get covid warnings anymore. I didn't notice that until the Corona Warn App asked me to check my status. When you pause eblocker everything works fine again.
is there any way to circumvent this?

There are two simple solutions (as alternatives) for the German CoronaWarnApp (CWA) to work:
- Enable the Auto Trusted App (ATA) in eBlocker. This will automatically recognize the CWA communication and whitelist it accordingly. BTW: Enabling ATA will automatically solve most issues that might occur with all apps and it‘s highly recommended to enable for non tech geeks. Note: You might need to open the app 2-3 times before it works and the domain(s) get recognized.
- Manually whitelist the following domain under Settings>HTTPS>Trusted Websites: verification.coronawarn.app
Tech Background
As the CWA uses Certificate Pinning (which is good btw), the communication via HTTPS can not be established if eBlocker is set to handle HTTPS for the device. So the communication domain needs to be whitelisted for HTTPS. Via ATA or manually as discussed above.
@bpr Would you please add CWA to the Trusted App standard (even enabled by default), so people can fight the pandemic while being covered by eBlocker more easily.😷👍
