Hi,

I used OS 2.5 for some weeks on a brand new RasPi 4 (on a AVM 6590 cable router). It worked as designed. Now suddenly eBlocker can no longer be reached via the browser UI. Even a newly flashed image helps, the RasPi 4 seems not to even start booting, the UI remains unreachable. RaspPi hardware is flawless, SD card shows no issues. I recently updated the router firmware to release 7.20. Are there any known issues? Any other ideas what the problem might be?

Many thanks.

Have you checked the ip address of eblocker in the fritzbox?

Mine has suddenly switched and was accessible with another ip address.

Regards Sven

RasPi 4 seems not to even start booting

How do you come to this conclusion?

Have you tried the iOS / macOS app to discover your eBlocker in your network?

Also: if you upgraded to iOS 14 or use a brand new Android, please check the current announcement.

To drill this down further please state what clientOS, browser etc. you are using.

Fritzbox no longer lists eBlocker with the former IP nor on a new one.

No client (Win 8.1, Win 10, Android 7, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS) shows the UI or even the button in the upper corner.

Browsers used are Chrome, Firefox Beta,  Firefox Standard). The network LEDs of the Pi4 indicate no activity, just glow constantly.

I followed the instructions I think, just flashed the SD card,  connected the hardware and turned on Power. Anything else I have to do?

Fritz does show the eBlocker with his IP, but you need to wait in the menu

It switches from x.x.x.1 to x.x.x.IP every minute in my menu from the fritzbox as you see in the screenshot attached.

I've the 7590 with 7.20 and 7490 with 7.21

If you can't wait or see the ip of eBlocker in the fritzbox, use tools like NetxPro or Net Analyzer from the Playstore to scan the network and you will see the ip address.

But the not flashing network light seem to show, that the Raspi is indeed not booting...
Do you have another sdcard for testing?

I am flashing my sdcards with HDDRawcopy Portable, but you need to unpack the image file first, before you can flash it with this tool

Yes, this is a sign either your Raspi or SD card is broken. Nothing to do with eOS.

@CalimerO
@Random

following your comments and advice I flashed a different SD card using HDD Raw Copy Portable (seems a decent software) and ... it is working again now.
Pi4 booted and the UI was present quickly. License activated and OS updated to 2.5.3 correctly.
So either the used SD card is corrupt or/and flashing failed. I suspect the latter but would need to investigate this. Maybe the SD card is not yet lost after all.

Thank you very much indeed for your prompt help.
