[Solved] Raspi 4 Image 2.5.0 BUGS

Bug: Parental Controls custom Blacklist does not show up to assign to a user.

Some internetlinks Do not work. Only the loadingsymbol, but nothing happens.

Some ideas what to do?

directly after a clean install?
What have you changed so far?
I had a similar situation, directly after the clean install on some site.
I rebooted eBlocker and the device and everything is working since now.

What else you can do:
on the device
admin dosbox: ipconfig /flushdns
in the Browser: clear cache

on eBlocker
Configuration -> DNS Firewall -> DNS Cache leeren

When i started the app ebay kleinanzeigen all the pictures didn't load,  on Amazon it was the same too.

Then i stopper the eblocker on the phone and it works well again. After that i wanted to take a Screenshot to post it here. So i activated eblocker again on the phone. But till now it works fine again.

Clear install. 

Nothing changed, only that what i wrote a few posts earlier

my quick test, here are the information:

1. Installation an activation - ok 👍 

2. Expert network-configuraion - ok 👍 

3. own Filter lists - ok 👍 

4. OpenVPN  assistent works, test button "success", but service will not start --> no VPN connection to eBlocker possible - 👎

5. Tor connection seems to be ok 👍 

6. link Help to eblocker.org

But it was only quick test...

This is not related to Pi 4 and this thread.

Pkease check the user manual under HTTPs / trusted apps.

Just enable ebay kleinanzeigen and others as trusted apps settings>https>trusted apps.

PLS consider not to post in this thread unless you are sure it‘s a bug and related to 2.5 on Raspi 4 only.

@calimero We need to work thru all the eBlocker text (some jason files for multilingual too)... and it‘s great we are collecting things here already. These text bugs need to be eliminated for a beta.

after a new setup of 2.5 on pi4, at all my macOS and iOS devices, the eBlocker icon doesn't show his image. Browser cache is cleared.

Any ideas?

I've done an rpi-update on the console and updated now from

4.19.97+
to
4.19.114+

and my Pi is much faster and more reactive.

There seems to be something wrong with the update procedure. Device works well but did not receive any update since installation (if there was any since Sunday?)

Line for "eblocker block list version" remains empty. See picture attached.

Have had almost the same issue with Raspberry Pi 3+ after installation, but there was a eblocker-repair.zip which worked well for me. Now this tool does nothing what I can see/understand.

eBlocker mobile is not working.

VPN and eBlocker must have the same issue with the new easy-rsa 3

Hi, need your help. 

I have a raspberry 3 running with the newest eblocker Software. There VPN works. 

Then I got a raspberry 4 running with eblocker and using the same ovpn files. But it does not work. 

Also I downloaded new ovpn file. But this doesn't work, too. 

What do I have to change?

As i posted directly before you, this is a bug in the image for the Raspberry Pi 4 2.5.0

VPN an eBlocker mobile need certificates, which will / should be created by "easy-rsa" which worked before with RaspBerry Pi < 4.

There is easy-rsa version 2 in place, which has been replaced now by easy-rsa version 3. 

This new version of easy-rsa has other commands, so the scripts for creating the rsa keys / certificates have to be rewriten completely, which will take some time.

But, as you should have read, the Raspi 4 image is an ALPHA release, which means, that it is lightyears away from being used in productive environments.

This is only for Bug-Hunting! 🙂

here a bug found in 2.5.1  by my testing on friday:

Activate TOR with a Client over eBlocker Mobile (VPN), i don't get the eBlocker symbol in the browser (Firefox); has anyone the same symptom?

But I don't know that this bug ist also in the version 2.4.5 . 🤔 

The next days i wil test ist...

With 2.5.1 I‘m experiencing latency issues during the TLS handshake. This occurs on various sites - especially on eBlocker.org. Result is a wait time of a few seconds until content is loaded and in very rare cases even a timeout occurs.

@all anyone else with this issue? (It might be another component in my network).

To double check I‘ll use the standard 2.4.5 over the weekend but any hint is appreciated.

@pio78 Yes, I can confirm this issue but I believe it's a general bug (not related to 2.5.1) or design issue with eBlockerOS. I had to disable TOR for the device using the settings - since I couldn't access eBlocker.box or eBlocker's IP either (with TOR enabled).

We've updated Rapi 4 to eOS 2.5.1 that fixes the eBlocker Mobile/VPN issue. Please try again - and use the ovpn files from the 2.5.1 installation (since every installation has a unique access key, it wont work across different eBlockers - otherwise you could access every eBlocker in the world 😉).

Issue is fixed and new Malware Patrol filters are integrated already. 😀 😎
