... that is the question for which i hope somebody can help

In my FRITZbox i have disabled IPv6 and in eBlockerOS 4.0.2 Settings/Network i've set IPv6 (BETA) enabled. I'm not sure this is meaningful, but it 'feels relaxed'. Is it really relaxes and, if not, how should i change the settings and why?

Thank you, Rob

@robf I'd always recommend to disable IPv6 on the router (as you did) since IPv6 bears some privacy risks, IPv4 does not have.

As soon as IPv6 is disabled on your router, it's disabled in your LAN as well. The eBlocker IPv6 setting has no effect then. Just leave it as is. It doesn't hurt.

And if you (accidentally) enable IPv6 one day, you are protected by your IPv6 enabled eBlocker already. 👍

THX!

@random Thank you Random; got the message.

Don't know yet why i would ever need IPv6 (everything works fine now), but i probably should ask that in another forum 😉

@robf There is no need for IPv6 unless your ISP is forcing IPv6 with an access router into your W/LAN, that is unable to deactivate IPv6. Then IPv6 is broadcasted in your home network and most modern devices will pick up an IPv6 address. 🤢

But even in this scenario I'd always buy a cheap WLAN router that is able to deactivate IPv6 to handle the internal W/LAN traffic with IPv4 only.

To sum up: you did very well disabling IPv6 on your router!

THX!

@random So, my ISP may have a need; didn't think about that.

Thank you and have a nice day!
