Hallo zusammen,

VG Sven

Download eBlocker-2.0.9-raspberry-pi-bplus.img.gz

and beamed to a MicroSD with HDDRawCopy1.10Portable or Balena Etcher.

To have more space on the boot partition, I first reduce the second partition at the beginning by about 200 MB and then enlarge the boot partition by the now free 200MB.

To make the Pi4 system bootable, I get the complete files from a Raspbian installation and copy the following to the eBlocker boot partition

  • The complete content of overlays
  • The following files from Boot
    • bcm2711-rpi-4-b.dtb
      fixup4.dat
      fixup4cd.dat
      fixup4db.dat
      fixup4x.dat
      kernel7l.img
      kernel8.img
      start4.elf
      start4cd.elf
      start4db.elf
      start4x.elf

Put the card into the Raspi 4, don't forget the network cable and boot up. After a while you get to the address eblocker.box via browser, but here I fail with the activation, because "supposedly" there is no network...

I cannot access the console (without User + Pass) to search the logs in the system.

Maybe someone can give me a hint here 😊

cheers Sven

We'll be providing "ready to download" images and support for Raspberry 4 shortly, once the software has been released as OSS. (Probably by the end of the month).

@Sven: if you want to contribute to the project with your expertise we'd love to welcome you in the supporters team 😀. We are currently setting up everything and should be up and rolling by the end of the week. I'll send you a private msg then.

Hello all toghether,

I have read about eblocker a couple days ago and was so entusiatic that I bought an SBC, SD-card  right away according to the describition. Unfortunately there was no further information about the SBC. So I bought a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B.  Now I read that this Model will not yet work with eblocker software. It will take some time to receive a new software for that.

My actual problem is, that I put the sd card 32 GB MSDHC class 10 into my computer I formated it, as my computer suggested to do so.  Now I figuered out that on the sd card there was NOOBs installed. So my question is, do I need this software or can I just install the Rasperry Pi 4 as soon as it is available ?

sorry for my silly questions, but my background in IT is very small... I am just an everage internet user with no prgramming knowledge.

Fred

Hi Fred,

I'm not crack to these things 'cause I'm relatively new to RasPi, but I really love it (of course I love the guys here even more ;-)).

As far as I can see, there will be no need for any other software to be installed on the RasPi sd card. As I did with my first RasPi thing, I will format the sd card using SD Card Formatter from a Company called Tuxera first (which perhaps is not really necessary) and then use Balena Etcher to install the image file for eBlocker.

I'm looking forward to get hands on the announced open-source-release.

cheers

This forum post is outdated as eBlockerOS is available for all Rasberry Pi with at least 1GB RAM since mid 2020. This also includes the Raspberry Pi 4.

Download eBlockerOS here and follow the instructions.

Hi,

I currently have the eBlocker running with a RPI 4 with 4 GB RAM.
Now I have a second RPI 4 with 8 GB RAM still unused.
Can the eBlocker benefit from the additional 4 GB RAM?
I have many active clients in our home network (incl. IoT), about 50 units.
I would be very happy about a tip.

Best thanks and many greetings

Not really. More than 2GB in total memory usage is usually never reached - even when adding tons of extra block lists.

THX!
