I don't know why, after activating HTTPS browsers do not work in the house anymore. It was so right from the begin. I'm a Kickstarter, and I also bought the family license when it was released. The device, first delivery, was defective when it was delivered. I have no other explanation, but I don't wanna discuss this here.
I made the same settings at a friend who also uses eBlocker, which don't work for me. The same OS with identical settings. With his equipment it runs perfectly.
What to do? I bought an eBlocker on eBay with an expired 1-year license, because I have a lifetime license. In terms of licensing it seems to be ok.
Long introduction, now to my question:
The purchased new eBlocker Cube does not have the current eBlockerOS due to the expired license. The "old" update URL is dead. As I see the downloads are only available for the Do-It-Yourself eBlocker? Therefore I need your help: How do I get the current version of eBlocker onto an 'old' device?
I have: An eBlocker with current eBlockerOS and Lifetime Family license (+ defective hardware), and a technically (hopefully) working eBlocker with outdated eBlockerOS. Therefore, how do I get the eBlockerOS updated?
Looking forward to helpful answers.
Regarding your question see https://eblocker.org/community/announcements/white-cube-eos-2-5-upgrade-development-status/paged/2/#post-2054
It's all said there 😉
Regarding the license check this out: https://eblocker.org/community/announcements/how-to-switch-to-open-source-license/#post-1696
The "old" update URL is dead.
What do you mean? All URLs are online and are working well to my knowledge. Would be great if you could name the URL you try to access.

Hello all,
let me start the following way: I have a white cube eBlocker, Serial no. 4465 with OS 2.4 installed and a lifetime family license. That is all I know about my Cube.
Now I tried several times to update to 2.5.8 but always get the note "update not successful".
Unfortunately I even do not know which OS for which "type of Pi" is necessary (banana, raspberry 2 or 4 etc. etc.), I am not able to reach this "Etcher"- homepage for downloading this installation software and last but not least I can not find any SD- card on or in the eBlocker- cube.
Is there anywhere a manual available, which gives a "non- graduated- computer- professional" a chance to update his cube to OS 2.5.
Thanks in advance.
@matzetthias Here is a good summary others have successfully followed: https://eblocker.org/community/bugs-features/how-to-update-an-old-eblocker-2-white-cube-with-eblocker-os-2-0-13-to-new-os-2-5-8/
Hope it helps.
THX!
@Random: Thanks for your prompt reply.
While I tried to follow all these threads you mentioned I looked at my setup to check if OS 2.4.10 is installed.
Don't ask me why, but now i found that the OS- release 2.5.6 is installed without doing anything. Obviously I must have done something right during this afternoon. Sorry, this is no fake, but only my experience.
Next question: I tried to activate the opensource- licence. Answer from eBlocker: "License- terms could not be loaded. Internet connection is necessary". Internet connection is available. What goes wrong here?
@matzetthias See here: https://eblocker.org/community/bugs-features/cant-enter-a-license-because-there-is-no-internet-connection/
You might also want to use the search term "license" to search the forum in the right side bar as we have several posts on this. There was a bug on the license server side that had been fixed last year already.
Solution in brief: make sure eBlocker has full internet access (no MAC address blocking, no Guest network, etc.).
THX!
