I have a BananaPi-M2 Berry and I tried to install the eblocker OS for the banana pi m2 from this side https://eblocker.org/en/eblockeros-download/

eBlocker-2.2.15-banana-pi-m2.img.gz

on a 16GB and a 32GB micro sd card with balenaetcher running on Win10. But the banana pi does not boot, only the red led goes on.

The banana pi is ok, I tried another os and this is working. So what to do?

best regards

Hi @elkotech,

try to compare both boot partitions from the sd cards and copy the missing/different files from the working sd card to the eblocker sd card and try again.

If that doesn't work, try the tool HDDRawCopy Tool 1.10.
Delete the partitions on the sd card and copy the eblocker image with that tool to the sd card.

good luck
Sven

@calimero

Okay thanks for your advices Sven. Things I tried until now: First I made a backup copy with HDDRawCopy1.10 of the working sd card, this copy works too.

I took a look on this disk with MiniToolPartitionWizzard v11.3. It has 4 partitions:

1. 100MB (unallocated) - 2. 256MB BPI-BOOT (FAT16) – 3. 6.8GB BPI-ROOT (Ext4) – 4. 7.6GB (unallocated).

Then I used BalenaEtcher to put the eBlocker-2.2.15-banana-pi-m2 Image on another sdcard.

This disk has 4 partitions too:

1. 91MB (Ext4) - 2. 106MB (unallocated) - 3. 3.7GB (Ext4) - 4. 25.8GB (unallocated).

At least I copied the 3.7GB (Ext4) partition from the last sdcard to the 6.8GB BPI-ROOT (Ext4) partition of the first sdcard.

This modified sdcard I put into the Banana Pi. It seems to boot (green led is now flashing and lightening) but not working, because there no light at the network connector and the eblocker is not reachable. What to do now? Any suggestions?

@elkotech

Maybe you can zip both boot partitions seperately with password and attach them here? I will try to merge them, that the Pi should boot?!

Well I zipped both, but I can't find a method to attach them here. Is this possible?

Yes different CPUs

M2: Allwinner H3 Quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7

Berry: Allwinner V40 Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A7

Arn't they compatible because of the same architecture?

@elkotech

Are you not able to attach files to a reply?
I have that below that textfield with a max size of 50mb per file.

@random said everything already.

Sorry, but this discussion is pointless. It's like trying to mount a BMW 7 engine to a BMW motorcycle. Not everything that has a BMW logo fits every BMW.

Get a supported device and use your "motorcycle" for something else 😉

Or if you are a developer: get your hands on the code on github - and take the developer discussion to github for re-engineering the current "engine" to your "motorcycle" 😎

Well, I'm with the core team and the we never had a Berry in our hands and it's for sure NOT equal to the M2 we had. Believe it or not. Good luck anyhow. Try G.F.T.S.O. 😛 Over and out.

I'm the founder of eBlocker and @random is right. If you can make the image working on a Berry - it's pure luck but not intended by the core team.

Thanks for letting us know about the Berry. I've updated the download page to make it more clear it's unsupported.
