Hello, I have several eBlockers and I was able to update the first one to version 3.
The second one had version 0.9 and I was able to update it to 2.4 and 2.5.
During the update to 2.56 an error occurred.
The eBlocker can still be started and access is still possible, but the DNS firewall is missing in the menu. At this reason you cannot enter a DNS server and therefore the device cannot find the next update to version 3 and the device cannot be activated.
I also have a third eBlocker but after the update problem I am afraid to update this as well.
Even if it is OpenSource I ask for your support because it is about the cubes and not about a Raspberry image.
How can the eBlocker with the DNS firewall be restored and updated to version 3?
Thanks a lot,
Volker

That's incorrect. If you have a DHCP server in your network DNS should be automatically set properly. To my knowledge the update is no problem (as you have seen with your other device already).
THX!
@random I could fix the problem.
The Windows Server with DHCP and DNS could not solve the problem. However I reset the eblocker to factory settings and after reboot I could update to Version 3.
My 2nd eblocker had the same issue but I reset this device and an could upfate this device and I have all the settings including the DNS Setting.
There is on ly on thing: I have enabled the https and coppy the certificate to the PC but the control won't show up. It is not so bad but what could be this?
Also the access to the eblocker by the ip adress works only with windows but not with my Linux PC.
These issues are not so bad after all and problery it wil fix in the RC Version.... 🙂

You need to generate a new key pair (private & public HTTPS signing key) or use the HTTPS certificate of the (updated) eBlockerOS. Copying the public key (=certificate) is not enough.
BTW: Since eBlockerOS 2.9 saving the private key is optional when performing a backup. See https://eblocker.org/en/docs/release-notes-2-9/

Nothing to do with the update. Please open a new topic with this and share all info asked here to get focussed help: https://eblocker.org/community/announcements/before-posting-here-please-read/#post-3948
