Dear all,
did someone try to import one of the DuckDuckGo Tracker lists? I have done one for malware with no issues: Thanks to the team for enabling this feature.
I tried one of the tracker lists, maximum.txt , from this link, https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mainzelM/ddg-tr-as-easylist/master/easylist/topsites/maximum.txt
And imported it to the settings-blocker-tracker blocker-add and chose easy list format.
The wheel spins now for 3+ Hours and it seems still to check the import. I understand the list is long, but it takes very long. Did you experience this, too?
What did I do wrong? Wrong format? Wrong list? Something else I missed?
Thanks for help.
Other users have successfully imported this list: https://eblocker.org/community/main-forum/strange-discovery/#post-1538
What‘s your hardware / GB?
It can take a while as the list is „precompiled“ for faster access. Patience is key 😋
I'm afraid the maximum list for the topsites became too large on one of the recent updates. I'll have a look into this soon. Until then, you can either try the medium.txt or one of the new local lists like the maximum list for Germany.
You'll need to restart the eBlocker to stop the import, though.
Best regards
Martin
@random Thanks. It hasn’t finish yet 🙂 I stopped it. BUt not by restarting eBlocker but by removing this list. It doesn’t disappear anymore. Others import fine. Strange. Never mind. I will try some others, I love this feature. Could I create my own easy list file? To me the txt files look simple, but I am not sure if I am missing something.
@mainzelm Thanks. The local files may be more adequate for me anyway. The medium and the German imported quickly and correctly. Now I am curious to see if I notice an effect.
@gregor White cube has only 1GB and is at its limit anyhow. No adding of lists recommended s. here https://eblocker.org/community/main-forum/to-many-blocker-rules/#post-1635
If you want more lists get at least 2GB.
THX!
@random thanks. Is there a description somewhere how to do it? I am a hw ignorant. Can’t distinguish a keyboard from a mouse
