Hello,
I have successfully installed eblocker with a Raps 4 and everything is running great.
I have a FritzBox 7590, the DHCP server is disabled and this is done by the eBlocker.
IPv6 is disabled in the FritzBox because the eBlocker does not support this yet.
Now my question:
I have installed VPN via the eBlocker and installed OpenVPN on the iPhone.
This works so far.
If I am connected via VPN to my home network, I should have access to my home device as if I am in the W-Lan network.
Unfortunately all apps on the Iphone do not find my home devices.
I have no access to my Diskstation, no access to the FritzBox and so on.
What is the reason for this?
I am grateful for any help.
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards,
Michael
@corner Please check this out: https://eblocker.org/docs/can-i-also-access-devices-in-my-network/
If this was not helpful, please be more specific how you try to access your devices: by IP, domain - via http(s) or some native OS network service (bonjour, wins, nfs,…) ?
Can you ping the devices if connected to eBlocker Mobile?
THX!
Thank you very much. I have already tried this hint, unfortunately without success. Even if I deactivate the eBlocker for the DiskStation, it does not bring any improvement. I can't reach the Fritz!Box either, and with this one you can't activate the eBlocker at all because gateway.
I also can not ping the devices via the iPhone.
I use the associated apps, DS file, DS Video, also in the Files app I can not connect the Diskstation via SMB.
🤔
When I connect with VPN via the FritzBox, everything works as if I am at home in the WLan network.
@corner I dare to repeat myself and ask more clearly: can you ping the LAN devices by IP address when connected to eBlocker Mobile? And how do you address the devices within the „associated apps“? (IP, domain, something else?)
Can you please make a screenshot of the Device settings in the eBlocker Mobile Tab. Please chose the device you are using with eBlocker Mobil for the screenshot.
I tried it now also with the Mac about "Tunnelblick".
I assume your Mac is connected to the LAN your eBlocker resides in. Then the message above is correct and can be ignored.
Background: if you are in a LAN all devices get the exterior IP address of your router, say A. When accessing a test server on the Internet A is shown.
If you now connect a mobile device via 4G/5G/LTE with eBlocker Mobile you are surfing via your LAN, hence the exterior IP of the mobile device changes to A.
Now, if you connect a device that is in your LAN (already) via eBlocker Mobile, the IP changes from A to A. So no change. That‘s what the message means. So no error, but maybe a misunderstanding how eBlocker Mobile / IP networks work…
THX!
Just checking back if you have solved the issue meanwhile. If not please share the answers to the questions above and I‘m also happy to help you get going.
Thanks for asking and sorry for the delay in getting back to you. ...it's a crazy time.
I was about to write that it does not work and as I mentioned above I can not ping the LAN devices.
Now I was just about to take a screenshot of the iPhone when connected via VPN, and lo and behold.... now it works.
I did not change anything in the settings and everything works now.
The APPs have access to the FritzBox, Synology and so on as if I am on the wifi network.
Why, no idea.
Thanks to all!
