I set everything up properly again after a failure. The individual settings for my Fritzbox 7490 also work. However, I keep getting a message on my smartphone that the WiFi connection has no internet connection. I searched and found the point about the DNS servers used in the information about my WLAN connections. Since there were several addresses here, I deleted the ip4 and 6 addresses except for those of the eBlocker. Can this be a problem and has anyone had this experience?

I only left the eBlocker address in the picture. Previously there was another ip4 and two ip6 addresses. That was auto mode and now set to manual. I didn't find anything when I searched)

@willifly I'm moved your reply to a new topic as the other topic where you've replied was solved already.

To investigate your case please provide the info asked here as well as an example how to reproduce the issue.

THX!

Meanwhile the message stopped coming. That's why the question is whether this could be a possible issue with WLAN problems.

With your post please always report

  • eBlockerOS version as well as filter lists version
    • eBlockerOS Version 3.1.0

  • Whether eBlocker’s https integration is enabled for client
    • Yes and tested
  • Client browser and OS version (i.e. FireFox 80.1 running on macOS 13.4)

    • yes
  • Exact way or a link / screenshot to reproduce the issue
    • At the moment no message appears anymore after I deleted all DNS entries in the WLAN connection and left only the eBlocker.

@willifly Firstly, there is a severe configuration error: With the settings above all traffic (but DNS) of the iOS device will by-pass eBlocker (as the client's gateway is pointing to the router). See https://eblocker.org/community/announcements/why-directing-dns-to-eblocker-is-not-sufficient/

Please set eBlocker's IP 192.168.2.29 as the Gateway in the iOS device (manually).

Secondly, you've configured quite a few DNS server. If there is an unreliable DNS (among those) and iOS can't resolve the portal check domain, it will briefly disable WLAN and try to re-connect.

If I were you I'd try to reduce the DNS servers to 1 or 2 reliable ones and check if the issue persists.

THX!

Ashes on your head! I checked all mobile devices and the entries were as they should be. I followed the instructions. The background to DNS is as follows: I only ever entered two and the second DNS was usually stated as not secure or slow.

I assumed that the eBlocker selects or checks here dynamically. But with this knowledge I can keep an eye on the DNS servers.

Now for the solution. For whatever reason, the eBlocker in my new cell phone didn't activate and that's where these entries came from. Did the behavior come from being reported? I don't know. I have learned a lot and will have to be even more careful.

Thank you for the help and patience!

If you feel we can improve eBlocker in some sense, please share. At the very moment I just see some configuration issues resulting from not following Setup Instruction. 🤔
