Hello everyone,
Since today I can connect to the eBlocker with my iPhone SE (2020) via the OpenVPN app. The strange thing is that I haven't changed any settings on the eBlocker. I restarted the eBlocker and my Fritzbox, but nothing helped.
Any idea what could help here?
Since today I can connect
I assume you meant „can not connect“? 🤔😉
Log shows that the eBlocker DNS service (which runs as beta/test server) is not resolving (=your individual domainname is not translated into an IP address). Hence no connection is possible.
Reason could be a DNS server issue on our side. At least I can confirm our beta service DNS is not working / resolving other domainnames either. @bpr might can check the server. This is beyond my scope unfortunately.
If you highly depend on eBlocker Mobile access, I‘d recommend to use a commercial dynDNS service instead of our test service (as outages can happen occasionally, but honestly are very rare). Surly the service will be back up next week. We‘ll let you know 😉👍
THX!
Yes, I can not connect to the eBlocker per eBlocker Mobile. I´ve tested it via another DNS-Service and have the same problem from iPhone and Macbook to connect to eBlocker via the mobil function.
@simon If you change dynDNS, you need to download the new OpenVPN files and install for usage. Maybe…🤔
THX!
Thats right but it doesn´t solve the problem...
it doesn´t solve the problem
Could you please share the log of the newly configured dynDNS OpenVPN session. I wonder what else is going wrong 🤔 Does your mobile have Internet connection at all?
THX!
@simon Perfect, glad to hear everything works again. Thanks @bpr for the quick support!
BTW: In case our DNS is down in future (which it rarely is). Your ddnssec.de config seems to be wrong (nothing to do with eBlocker!). Log shows there is no DNS record set ("DNS resolve error on 'simoneblocker.ddnssec.de' for UDP session: DNS/RRset does not exist"). Probably some wrong configuration with your account - but unfortunately out of scope for my/eBlocker support.
THX!
Hey, I tried it again and I found the "problem" with the DNS Service: in the field for the dynamic address when setting up I entered the domain instead of the IP address. By changing this entry it worked now.
And thank you very much for the help!!
