Checked White Cube with eOS 2.5.8 for update manually last night around 23:00 h.

Since then, my eBlocker disappeared and can’t be found by eBlocker-apps both on my iMac and on my iPad. The app on my iPad shows the address 192.168.1.2, but this can’t be changed manually. On the iMac, the address can be changed to 192.168.178.2, but than the app informs me that no eBlocker can be found on this address. My FRITZ!Box is set to always assign the same IPv4-address 192.168.178.2.    IPv6 is disabled in the router.   iPadOS 14.4.1; macOS 11.2.3

As i don’t know what happened, i didn’t (yet) pull the Power-plug from the eBlocker.

Would appreciate advice, Rob

Client OS
Browser
eBlocker hardware
Client OS version
eBlockerOS version

I am not clear what happened nor what the exact result is.

Did you manually perform the update and since then you can‘t reach eBlocker?

Or is it just the eBlocker App not finding eBlocker and eBlocker is working still / can be reached by „eblocker.box“ or it‘s IP? (Did you kill the App /swipe to top to restart?)

Are you sure you run 2.5.8? 2.6 has been released last night. Please verify.

It would be great if you could state exactly what you did, what the result is and what you tried to reset/restart already.

Also all the infos stated on the „README FIRST“ would help to avoid long ping-pong Q&A.

THX!

@random

Good morning and thank you for getting in touch.

As i’m very curious about eOS 2.6, i tried to update my version 2.5.8 manually by hitting the Button ‘Update now’ or ‘Update manually’ in Settings/Update from the Safari screen on my iPad. While the eBlocker was busy (showing a message that it can take up to ... minutes), i put the iPad down and continued watching TV.

When i picked up the iPad again (after +- 30-45 min), the eBlocker had gone. Not to be found in my browser at 192.168.178.2, nor by the eBlocker-app. I then checked my iMac, however with the same sad result. I then checked my FRITZ!Box, but it tells me that the eBlocker is not connected.

As the eBlocker in the past gave warnings NOT to disconnect the power while updating, i haven’t touched the power cable until this very moment. Unfortunately it also means that i have no possibility to verify the actual status of the eBlocker.

@robfranssen-fr OK. Thanks. Please unplug power from eBlocker. Count to 10. Reconnect power.

THX!

@random Wow, works!
Didn’t have the courage to unplug the power, but after i did, the eBlocker rebooted and after another update i now am at version 2.6.2!

Thank you ‘Hoch 2’, both for the help and for the update. ‘Chapeau’ for the team.

Regards, Rob
