Hello Eblocker Team,
I have configured a vpn using NordVpn provider as you recommended and followed all the steps explained in this guide .After I'm connected to the VPN I ran some tests just to check how well protected I am, and it seems that eblocker has some issue that is leaking DNS which from my understanding should not be the case. Here is how I tested this:
1- I confirmed that NordVpn's server is not leaking DNS' because I connected to the same server using NordVpn's client app and run the same test and it didn't leak any DNS. The test I ran is the "extended tests" in dnsleaktest.com.
2- Connect to the same server used in the step above from eblocker's IP-Anonymization and ran de "extended tests" and the result shows that I'm leaking DNS. Here are some images.
Is this something that is acceptable from your point of view or is something that is worth of investigation?
Thanks in advance and let me know if I can be help with something else.
@gggernest I‘m not sure how this „test“ works but for me it only shows random DNS servers I‘m not using for sure.
I use a round robin (via eBlocker’s DNS) of 4 DNS severs. None of them is shown in the test. 🤔
In addition: if you are using eBlocker VPN each DNS request is resolved via VPN, so a DNS server only sees your VPN IP. Your real IP shouldn‘t be visible to any DNS (while using eBlocker VPN).
Just to make sure: is any of the show DNS servers in your screenshots actually used by any of your clients/router/eBlocker?
If it‘s not the case: I would not worry. 👍 But rather question the test… 😉
THX!
