I want to conntect remotely via eBlocker mobile with my router at home and then I want to use the IP annonymization configured on my eBlocker to connect via Tunnelblick VPN with my remote desktop in the office.

When I within my WLAN I can easily connect via IP annonymization establish this VPN connection.

But will it work, when I conntect first from outside onto my eBlocker?

Client OS
Browser
eBlocker hardware
Client OS version
Browser version
eBlockerOS version

Yes, you can establish a VPN connection to your office via eBlocker‘s VPN (if that’s based on OpenVPN protocol) and use this connection via eBlocker Mobile then. Just follow these steps:

  1. Add your office VPN as a VPN connection to eBlocker (Settings>IP Anonymization>Tab VPN Network>Click on New VPN provider and provide credentials)
  2. Make sure to test the office VPN connection via eBlocker while at home (via Dashboard or Controlbar).
  3. When outside your LAN connect to eBlocker Mobile.
  4. Then enable the VPN connection via eBlocker to your office again (via the Dashboard or Contolbar)
  5. Done 😀

THX!

Has been done a long time ago.

  1. Make sure to test the office VPN connection via eBlocker while at home (via Dashboard or Controlbar).

It works.

  1. When outside your LAN connect to eBlocker Mobile.

Done. It works.

  1. Then enable the VPN connection via eBlocker to your office again (via the Dashboard or Contolbar)

Done.

Unfortunately not. In the panel IP Annonymization I can establish the VPN network to the office. But cannot connect to the remote desktop via MS Remote Desktop. Where can I find the culprit - except the one in front of the panel?

@facebita

Can you start a tracert %ipadress% from a commandline to see, where it stops?

But cannot connect to the remote desktop via MS Remote Desktop.

I‘m not an MS Remote expert and not really clear about your setup. Can you please be more verbose.

For example „The mobile client is running XY OS and software XYZ (Remote Desktop Client?) connecting to a XYZ OS server in the office running XYZ software (remote desktop server?) via IP/UDP/XYZ protocol“.

Can you ping the server‘s IP address in the office while connected - 1. in LAN 2. while using eBlocker Mobile?

Last: may I kindly remind you about your feedback regarding your other open topic again  https://eblocker.org/community/main-forum/mail-app-in-macos-load-remote-content/#post-4585 🤔👍

The client is running macOS 11.6. The eBlocker mobile connection is being established via Tunnelblick 3.8.6a. At home is running Blocker 2.7.7.

When I am at home the VPN connection into the office works properly. I have installed the office config file on eBlocker. I use it as a IP annonymization network.

Now, at a business trip, I can connect with eBlocker mobile the eBlocker at home. Ich can connect the VPN to the office. eBlocker tells the connection has being properly established.

Then I start MS remote desktop 10.6.8 in order to connect the Windows 10 remote desktop. But not connection can be established.

But at home - without eBlocker mobile - this has being worked properly.

ping -c <IP-ADDRESS>

4 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100.0% packet loss

But the server in the office with the given IP address ist definitely running.

Could I the VPN config file, that has being the source of the VPN, which has being installed on eBlcoker, reload from eBlocker back to my Mac in order to establish an VPN to the office directly from my Mac via the Hotel WLAN in order only to try, whether I can enter the office without tunneling via eBlocker?

@facebita Sorry for not clearly asking my questions as it's actually two questions... I'll retry:

  1. While in your LAN, please connect to your office using eBlocker VPN. Then open a terminal on your macOS. Type "ping <office remote server IP address>" while replacing everything in italics with the IP address of your office server. Post result.
  2. Then (second question) do the same while you are connected via eBlocker Mobile. Important: Make sure you are not connecting to eBlocker Mobile while in the same LAN as your eBlocker - as this might cause side effects. Rather use a mobile phone to simulate a hotel hotspot and connect. Then ping again - using the same ping command as above. Post results.

As asked by @calimero please also run a "traceroute <office remote server IP address>" via the terminal (or like discussed here: https://macreports.com/how-to-run-traceroute-on-macos/ ) for both scenarios above.

And yes, it's a good idea to connected directly via tunnelblick to your office server from the hotel to see if the cause of error might be something else but eBlocker.

THX!

@facebita

Additionaly please make sure, that in DNS-Firewall -> Local Devicenames everything is on default like in the screenshot visible

local devcienames

I've seen by myself, that a modification is making strange things in the local network

@andreashamburg

Please check this also on your settings, as I've seen that you have already fritz, box in your setting, which makes also trouble!

Where on eBlocker I will find the opvn config file in order to load and install it on my laptop?

@facebita You might have misunderstood my request: please connect your device via tunnelblick directly to your office server (using your office credentials). No eBlocker involved! This is to make sure the device and Remote Desktop work at all with your office server.

Nevertheless, to answer your question: you can always download the eBlocker Mobile OpenVPN configs for a particular device by Settings>Devices> <select device ie. your laptop> Then hit tab Mobile and button Download Configuration while previously selecting the right OS in the dropdown.

THX!

I did understand. But, unfortunately I do not have a copy of the office credentials an my Mac. I had installed it on eBlocker and then deleted the file on my Mac. So, the question ist: (How) can I get the credentials from eBlocker onto my Mac in order to create a profile in Tunnelblick?

For security reasons there is no way to export given VPN credentials.

Just checking back if you retrieved the credentials meanwhile or if we should rather close this topic?

BTW: I’ve double checked that anonymization via eBlocker Mobile and then using eBlocker VPN works just fine. But I can not check your special Remote Desktop case unfortunately. If RDP is TCP/IP based it should work fine as well - in theory 🤔😉

Let me know…

THX!
