Hello,

is there a known problem of using F-Droid and eBlocker?

In my current setting I can't use the F-Droid app store in my WLAN-secured-eBlocker-network. The app-store does not download (preview) images or files.

  • It does work while eBlocker is paused and it does also work on cellular networks
  • I am using a google-free GrapheneOS Pixel 4a
  • The eBlocker-certificate is installed on my smartphone and I can 'surf the net' by using the webbrowser in my WLAN.
  • The eBloker is set to "automatic mode (recommended)" for blocking (as described here)

Do I have to add f-droid to the trusted apps or website section of the eBlocker-settings? (any hints for this?)

I am surprised because I think that there are some users of f-droid and eBlocker and thus I should not be the first user with this issue (?).

Any help is appreciated 🙂

Yes, probably. Hints:

To make the app (appstore) work please follow this post: https://eblocker.org/docs/problems-with-apps/

Solution is probably to define a trusted app for f-droid as discussed here: https://eblocker.org/docs/eblocker-https-diagnostics/

Would be great if you‘d share the outcome once it works so we can add the app to the eBlocker standard for other users: https://eblocker.org/community/main-forum/trusted-apps-community-user-recommendations/

Good luck & THX!

Hello,

well, it seems to be quite straight forward. I've added f-droid.org as Trusted app:

eb1
eb2

This seems to be enough 🙂

THX for your hints. Right now the setting descibed above is (only?) needed for GrapheneOS. It is not needed on a stock Samsung S10 device and maybe that is the reason why it was not reported earlier.
