Hello,

HTTPS has stopped working since the 2.9.1 update.

The certificate is no longer recognized, neither in Edge nor in Firefox or on Android devices. I installing a new certificate doesn't change anything.

In addition, the manual check for updates no longer works. I get the message 'Check for updates failed' (500 - Internal Server Error - Could not initialize class sun.secritiy.ssl.SSL.ContextImpl$TLSContext).

Restarting Eblocker and Browswer didn't help either. The function test shows a red exclamation mark at 'Website filtering (HTTPS)'

My configuration:

Raspberry Pi 4 Model B; 4GB

Eblocker OS: 2.9.1

Windows 10 Firefox/Edge

eBlocker block lists version 2022-04-19-14-06-16

What can I do?

Micha

Client OS
Browser
eBlocker hardware
Client OS version
Browser version
eBlockerOS version

The certificate is no longer recognized,

What does this exactly mean? Could you please share a screenshot of the error you are getting.

I get the message 'Check for updates failed' (500 - Internal Server Error - Could not initialize class sun.secritiy.ssl.SSL.ContextImpl$TLSContext).

Could you please also take a screenshot of this as I'm not 100% sure where you are at.

THX!

@micha

Please export your settings if it is still possible and flash another MicroSD with the eblocker image and import the settings there.

Your text reads as if the last update process has crashed your installation and with the other SD Card and a fresh eblocker install, you will see, if it will work there - including your https certificate, if you were able to export it.

And yes, please also share screenshots, because it is nearly impossible to know every error out there only from text 🙂 Thanks!

Hello,

I've attached 2 Schrennschots.

The line '500 - Internal Server Error - Failed to initialize class sun.secritiy.ssl.SSL.ContextImpl$TLSContext' can be seen when I hover over the 'Check for updates failed' message.

Otherwise, the Eblocker works perfectly, including VPN.

Thanks and regards

Micha

@micha I'd try to

  1. Disable HTTPS (System > HTTPS)
  2. Count to 10
  3. Re-enable HTTPS
  4. Go to System > HTTPS > Certificate and click "Renew now"
  5. Re-install the certificate on one client (make sure to follow instructions closely)
  6. Check if everything works on that client and if so - repeat for other clients.

If this does not work, I fear the update got interrupted and eBlocker is in some strange state now. Then just re-install the SD card on your "other" hardware and start all over 😉

THX!
