To drive eBlockerOS into the right direction for the future we'd appreciate your feedback to this poll.
In case you are missing a feature to use the Parental Controls, please share your ideas via a comment to this post.
Thanks very much! 👍
I'm not using the feature right now - but it is planned in the future.
While being not into it I suggest beside offering a blacklist (deny websites) but also a whitelist-only mode. E.g. only allow wikipedia.org or fragfinn or programmieren.wdrmaus.de selectable per device.
Thanks for your work!

Done: There is a whitelist mode implemented since eBlockerOS 1.x already. So you can block the whole Internet but let only certain domains pass for the kid's device(s).
THX!
I use this a lot and it works great.
The only thing that I mis is dns server settings for indeviduale devices.
One of my devices needs to use my internet provider their dns server. This would be very usefull.
@lucbo82 Thanks for your feedback.
I‘m not sure why a specific DNS is needed? What‘s the application?
In any case you can set a fixed DNS (the IP of your router) in your device (that needs this DNS). This will by-pass eBlocker’s DNS Firewall, but if the device is enabled for HTTPS you have better protection by the URL pattern blocker (=default) instead of the DNS FW.
Or if you don‘t mind your provider seeing your DNS requests, just set your router‘s IP as the only DNS in eBlocker DNS Firewall settings. Then the DNS FW is also enabled.
Hope I made myself clear. 🤔 If not, don‘t hesitate to reply,

@random this is for set-upbox for the iptv.
The Dns and ip settings on these devices can not be changed. This is blocked by my provider.

If Gateway and DNS can‘t be changed, I‘m not sure how device individual DNS settings could help (which was the original request) 🤔
You could try eBlocker’s Auto Network Mode which „intercepts“ the outbound TCP packets (all traffic incl. DNS) regardless of the fixed device settings. But this might not work with all network devices…
THX!
We have fiddled with many different parental control apps and having something that we physically install on the home network is part of the solution we are interested in. We want the white/black lists as well as time based limits (both time used and bedtime limits), we need exclusions for when the older kids need to work on a deadline. We don't personally need reporting.
One thing I think would be nice to prevent "doom scrolling" would be some sort of "the more requests you make the slower the responses arrive" this might have to be per service/domain/CDN but could also be part of the time based schedule so that near bedtime their internet access just slows down....

I'm not sure if you are an eBlocker user, but all this is part of eBlocker's feature set already. Just give it a try...😉

Your wish is noted. 👍
