Hello all,
is there a possibility to create an eBlocker filter similar to the browser extension "I don't care about cookies" ( https://www.i-dont-care-about-cookies.eu)?
Thanks for help.
@jogi To my knowledge the plugin just accepts any banner. So it acts quite the opposite to eBlocker. eBlocker tries to preserve your privacy by blocking the trackers instead of accepting them.
But as eBlocker blocks all trackers, ads and other bad guys you can simply click OK on any banner - and your privacy is preserved still.
Nevertheless, to answer your question, almost anything can be implemented if there are talented volunteers to do so. 😉 I also keep the fingers crossed for more developers joining to tackle all ideas we are having and receiving🤞
THX!
But with eBlocker activated I can not setup a function "click OK on any cookie banner" like "I don't care about cookies" does? I do not like all these annoying EU cookie banners.
Good morning @jogi.
eBlocker already includes a Cookie & Consent Banner blocker.
You can activate this blocker under Settings> Blocker> Pattern Tracker Blocker > Consent & Cookie Banner Blocker. This blocks all the "big" guys providing banner technology to websites - but it certainly does not work in every case.
Nevertheless your wish is heard that next to comprehensive privacy protection you wish for eBlocker to stop even more/all of these banner annoyances as well.
As @random pointed out, of course something could be implemented. This needs very much time for investigation at the first place as there is not just "one banner technique" - but thousands. All potentially needing a different treatment to get blocked...
Unfortunately our sparse resources are bound in IPv6 implementation at the moment and I also hope for more developers joining us to fulfill your wish anytime soon.
Thanks very much for all your input - and your understanding 👍
