Hello eBlocker users!
First of all: The installation on the RasPi was -as promised- easy and without any problems.
But what I don't understand is: Why are important tips & hints for the configuration of the RasPi, the eBlocker or the router simply given without any explanation.
Example: Txt&Video: Enable DHCP in the eBlocker and disable it on your router!
OK, but why should I do it this way? What is better then?
Example: Turn off IPv6 on your router!
Aha, but why should I do that, how does that help me?
Can someone make me a complete n00b & amateur a bit smarter!?
Thanks & greetz

@superblond Please check out the Starter Guide for Beginners: https://eblocker.org/docs/setup-instructions-start-here-eblocker-beginners/ There you'll find all the mandatory steps to make eBlocker work - and what's optional. If it reads mandatory - it's mandatory and can not be skipped... (like disabling IPv6) 😉
Additional background infos are given in the knowledge base. Just use the keyword you need more info for: https://eblocker.org/docs/
If you are missing specific infos - also after checking the forum (there is a search field in the right column), please come back here with your specific questions.
THX!
There is vast information in the knowledge base, as pointed out by @Random.
To briefly answer your questions:
Enable DHCP in the eBlocker and disable it on your router!
OK, but why should I do it this way? What is better then?
This is to reroute the TCP/IP packets to the eBlocker for inspection before they are passed to your router. DHCP setup is only needed in case your router is not compatible with eBlocker‘s Plug & Play. Make sure you understand how eBlocker works.
Turn off IPv6 on your router!
Aha, but why should I do that, how does that help me?
To make eBlocker work, in case your router distributes IPv6 addresses to the clients. See also here if you speak German: https://eblocker.org/donations/ipv6-unterstuetzung/
