Hi,
i've just started using eBlocker and have enabled HTTPS blocking and uBlock under pattern blocking. All is going well, however mobile ads are still shown. I have confirmed the certiifcate is installed.
also, when i use the following website to test ad blocking, it comes up as only 10% being blocked. Not sure if this is correct.

are there any further settings to look into to disable mobile ads and increase the percentage in blocking ads above.
thanks
@deepunder I get no ads on my mobile when using eBlocker Mobile. 🤔
Are you sure your mobile is set to route via eBlocker? i.e. Do you see the the eBlocker icon on websites?
Please check Function Test in Dashboard and share results here.

Hi,
yep I have the default gateway and dns pointing to the eblocker. Browsing safari most ads are blocked.
if I open an IOS game the in-game ads come up. So I decided to check if ads are getting through and I used the website I linked above.
The function test comes up with all ticks.
thanks the link to the article, that explains a lot about the link above showing a low percentage. Now just the mobile ads in IOS games.
thanks.
@deepunder Can you please name the app that is showing ads so we can investigate this further.
BTW: You can do this as well using the Blocker Analysis Tool (Settings> Blocker> Tab Analysis Tool) but it requires some technical background.
Please also share the Blocklists you have enable/disabled or individually added. And also share if the Auto Trust App is enabled. (BTW. It's easier to diagnose the issue if you could answer the Standard Support Questions right away - as otherwise we might find ourself's in a longer Q&A ping pong).
THX!
Sure, the app on my iphone is called Pizza Purist. Also i've found a website that shows ads on the notateslaapp website that loads fine, but if you stay on the home page (~30 seconds), ads will start to appear on the bottom of the screen and also in the middle of the page when scrolling.
I've left most settings default as i'm still learning how it all works, the changes i've made are listed below
Below are my details
- Just installed the latest version of eBlocker 3.1 - downloaded the update once it was setup on a RaspBerry Pi 3b
- DNS Settings are configured to use custom which are - 1.1.1.1 and 9.9.9.9
- Pattern Blocking is enabled - left the default settings - the changes i made was i enabled duckduckgo trackers and also uBlock filters for youtube ads.
- HTTPS certificate installed on my iphone - Function Test is all green ticks
- Auto Trust App Settings is Not enabled - left it as default
- Iphone settings in eBlocker is set to Automatic for the Tracker and Ad Blocker under the Ad Blocker Tab. (Confirmed the eBlocker is enabled for the iPhone)
- iPhone DG and DNS is pointing to the eBlocker.
Running the analysis on the notateslaapp website most of the links are blocked except a few that run Javascript.
for the pizza game, Unity3d loads without a Block were the URL has Ads in the addess - UnityAds, also App-Measurement loads, inmobi loads and this website is a telementry site. the game once loaded will eventually load a video ad after around ~2mins. Biggest hitter is inner-active.mobi website where the URL grabs the video. Applovin.com is a talker, not sure if this site is telementry or ads as well.
Hope i've helped with the informtion for you. Let me know if you need anything further.
Just an update, I’ve disabled private tracking in the wifi settings on the iPhone and that has resolved the ads showing up while browsing.
however, ads are still showing in mobile games. Another game is rider that has an ad come up.
thanks.
@random Hey Random,
just checkining in to see if you need anyting else and how things are going. I'm also keen to learn about creating some easylists but i would like to see how this issue goes and take that as a learning.
thanks
Hi just an update. I’ve resolved the issue for all but one ad popup.
I was able to resolve the issue by finding another filter list that contains mobile and telemetry sites.
final question, 🙂 I’ve was able to install and activate the HTTPS certificate on my appletv, but unfortunately YouTube won’t load. I did a quick test not a full one where I was able to load the Netflix app to the login screen. Didn’t go beyond that.
