Hello all, if eBlocker is activated, OneNote for Windows 10 stopps synchronization. Has anyone a solution for this issue?
@twaniek I assume your client is eBlocker HTTPS enabled and the Function Test of the client shows all green, right? (See here what we need to stop this guessing: https://eblocker.org/community/announcements/before-posting-here-please-read/#post-117 )
If my guess is right, the reason is so called „certificate pinning“ (by MS in this case). This can be solved by a Trusted App (where eBlocker is not interfering with the defined trusted domains of the App).
In this case there are three things to try (where each item might bring the solution already):
- Enable Microsoft Trusted App(s) (Settings > HTTPS > Trusted Apps - Type „microsoft“ and enable what sounds right in a try-and-error)
- Enable the Auto Trust App (same location as 1), but type „Auto“. Read the docu about how this works.
- Manually record the Trusted App yourself if 1 and 2 did not work out. See here for an example: https://eblocker.org/docs/eblocker-https-diagnostics/
THX!
Thank you very much, the third way was the solution.
THX!
@twaniek Perfect 👍
It would be great if you could share the needed domains, so we can add them to the pre-defined Trusted Apps. Here is a good spot: https://eblocker.org/community/main-forum/trusted-apps-community-user-recommendations/#post-1203
THX!
I added all domains which were recorded during the start and synchronisation of OneNote for Windows 10:
Appname | Recommendation | Description | Domains / IPs |
OneNote for Windows 10 | Synchronisation OneNote for Windows 10 | 52.109.88.168/32 |
Thanks very much for sharing!
I guess the following domains are not related to Onenote since they are pointing to avast (see also https://who.is/whois/avcdn.net )
s-overseer.avcdn.net
v7event.stats.avast.com
You might want to delete these two - and I bet OneNote will work still… 🤔
THX!
