Hello,

While writing this my eblocker crashed again (don't know why?!) and my previous post is gone.

Attachement 2 is before this post

Attachement 3 is after i tried to make my initial post.

Short explanation of what's happening :

It ran for close to 15? days and suddenly it just stopped working today.

I wasn't doing anything special really just updating ESXI 7.

When a earlier crash happened i already replaced the SD card with a new one.

I did add the crash/system logs from both crashes today.

Client OS
Browser
eBlocker hardware
Client OS version
Browser version
eBlockerOS version

@mwbreur Unfortunately all attachments are missing. Next to sharing them anew, could you please share a Diagnosis Report (eBlocker Settings > System > Diagnosis report) with us by email: support at eBlocker.org Then we might can see more clearly whats going on.

FYI: There has been no change to eBlockerOS since August 2021. So chances are high the issue is hardware related (SD card would be my guess) - or something very specific to your setup.

Regarding your setup, it would be very helpful if you could share the answers from the questions in the README.

THX!

@mwbreur I‘m not sure what you are trying to attach but all regular file formats like .jpg/.png/.gif/.pdf/.txt are supported. Maybe try a different browser / file format. 🤔

THX!

@mwbreur

Thank you for the diagnostics report.

It seems to be an issue with the SD card which becomes unresponsive sometimes. In the syslog file there are many entries like this:

INFO: task kworker/1:2:12320 blocked for more than 122 seconds.

Workqueue: events_freezable mmc_rescan

I assume the SD card needs to be replaced.

This will be the 3rd time i have to replace the SD card? I'm using Samsung SD cards or Sandisk mostly. The 'Class 10' ones. Any SD cards that can be recommended? I like it when stuff works for more than a few months.

When i get some recommended cards i'll replace then entire lot here.

It just seems strange that those cards seem to die so fast? I use the Samsung ones in everything i got, phones/tablets/several PI's etc.

Any way to use a USB drive instead of a SD card? Got a whole bunch of Kingston drives i don't use or have been barely used from 8-32GB.

@mwbreur Stange the SDs get fried in your Pi so quickly. Actually in six years working with SBCs I‘ve never ever had a failing SD myself (I use various brands) but I‘ve heard of a few failures from users - really seldom.

I‘ve used Kensington, Samsung and no name. I know there are different storing techniques for SD like SLC/MLC/TLC - but I‘m not aware what the cards are using unfortunately. Probably this is the important factor to know…

I’d just give it a try & buy top shelf only!

Good luck 🍀

THX!
