I think, here is something wrong with DHCP. When I try to configure a brand new Homepod it returns failure code 301009. As far as I understand, this is a problem regarding the integration of the device into the WLAN. In my case, I have a well working installation of a Fritzbox 7490 with an eBlocker, where eBlocker is providing the IP adresses within the network. Does somebody here know the settings of eBlocker which are apropriate in order to get Homepod working?

PS: Failure code as shown on Home App on iOS ist 301009.

Client OS
Browser
eBlocker hardware
Client OS version
Browser version
eBlockerOS version

@facebita Unfortunately I have no idea about macOS nor what a Homepod is.

But generally I‘d recommend to disable a device which is not working properly (i.e. the Homepod) initially in eBlocker (Settings> Devices > Disable the device).

BTW: This will not affect the DHCP server which serves IP addresses regardless of the eBlocker protection status.

THX!

@random The device is not visible in eBlockers device list. I think there is any mysterious connection between the iPhone and the Homepod in order to initialize the configuration process. But as soon as tip the button [configure] on the screen of the iPhone in order to trigger the process to pull the required configuration data from iPhone onto Homepod the said failure code appears.

@facebita The info about the iPhone usage is new. Thanks! Have you tried disabling the iPhone (temporarily) as discussed above and retried?

THX!

*facepalm myself* You are right! Thanks a lot. This made the trick. One should ever consider: Communication (as well of devices) is a matter of two  😉

@facebita Perfect!

Don‘t forget to re-enable your iPhone again and you are all set 👍

BTW: Not sure whether it makes sense to enable the Homepod in eBlocker. I‘m using Sonos (also an Internet loudspeaker) and blocking Internet radio ads works great if eBlocker is enabled (with just the Domain Blocker). Maybe give it a try, too… 😉

THX!
