Hello,
the function "Doctor" in the eBlocker returns the message, ip6 is not activated. This although in my Fritzbox 7490 the ip6 protocol was enabled and my ip6 address could actually be determined. Meanwhile I deactivated ips6 in the fritzbox until the eBlocker can ip6.
"Doctor" in the eBlocker returns the message, ip6 is not activated.
🤔 This message does not exists or it‘s a misunderstanding.
Here is the only message from the doctor regarding IPv6:
This is to warn you to switch off IPv6 - not the opposite.
If this is not clear please share an idea how to improve.
THX!
Hello,
maybe the cause is, that ipv6 is done via a "Native Internet connection" (see screenshot) and
despite the setting in the fritzbox 7490 "no ipv6 support" from the "eBlocker-Doktor", among others (!), the message comes:
"Your network is not connected to the internet via IPv6. This is pleasing, because the eBlocker does not support IPv6 yet."
Does not bother.

Sorry, I can not follow at all. I have not understood what you wanted to say with your last post. Maybe it‘s my English or maybe some context I‘m missing?
Can you please try to take screenshots to make your point clear? For example, I don‘t understand which messages you get from eBlocker „among others (!)“ and where you get them? I also have no clue about fritzbox nor what a „native internet connection“ is.
The only thing I understand from your (fritzbox?) screenshot is that IPv6 is enabled - which is not gonna work with eOS 2.8.x. This needs to be disabled.
Are you actually asking a question, is this a bug report or an idea for improvement? Sorry, I feel I‘m lost. @random Or is this just for you?!
@bastet Maybe we start all over with a simple approach like „When I click XYZ, I get the message ABC. I try to EFG, but eBlocker responds 567. What do I need to UVW to achieve 123?“ - or something like this.🤔
Hello!
To clear the sky 😉
First of all: If there was any ambiguity because of the English, it's because of my limited skills - I translate the German with the DeepL-Translator. Therefore, this time I add the text additionally in German.
The two screenshots show a wrong display of the "Doctor" in the eBlocker:
Although ipv6 is enabled in the fritzbox, this is NOT detected by the "eBlocker-Doktor" AND NO corresponding warning message is
displayed.
Sorry if this information was not recognizable in my previous posts, I didn't want to "make unnecessary wind" and steal your time.
Because the hardworking eBlocker team will have implemented ipv6 soon, no action is required of course.

Hallo!
Dank an Euch Alle!
@mainzelM Just to let you know: It seems the Doctor is not (always) recognizing IPv6 correctly (see above). I‘m not sure whether it makes sense to investigate further because eBlocker will support IPv6 (hopefully) till mid-year. 🚀😉
The Doctor uses the system‘s ping6 command trying to reach an IPv6 test server in the internet. If that succeeds, it concludes that IPv6 is available, otherwise it assumes that it isn’t. So it’s pretty basic but on the other hand, it’s usually sufficiently exact.
It would probably be better to check the network interface itself, but as I don’t have IPv6, I don’t have a chance to figure out how to do that.
