Introduction #
This guide will help with installing the eBlocker certificate in Linux. Linux users usually have the choice between the Firefox browser and the Chromium browser. The Chromium Browser is the part of the web browser Google Chrome provided by Google as an open source software project.
Linux users with the Firefox browser, or a browser based on the Firefox browser, can easily store the eBlocker certificate. Just follow our Firefox browser instructions.
It is assumed that HTTPS support has already been activated on your eBlocker device. If this is not the case please see this document: Setup Instructions: START HERE-Advanced Setup
Steps To Install #
Please use the Chromium / Chrome Browser, or a browser based on the Chromium browser.
- On the HTTPS configuration page, click on the tab CERTIFICATE.
- Now click on the button DOWNLOAD. If necessary, you can also download the certificate by right-clicking on the button and then Save as.
Certificate Installation #
- Open in the browsers Settings and scroll down the page.
- Click on “Advanced“.
- Scroll down to “Manage certificates” and click “Manage certificates“.
- Select the “Authorities” tab.
- Click on “Import“, select the eBlocker certificate and then click on”open“.
- The eBlocker certificate was now stored and all browsers based on the Chrome / Chromium browsers can now use this certificate.
Please check the eBlocker settings > menu HTTPS > tab TRUSTED APPS and see if you should activate further exceptions for e.g. Feroda Linux, Ubuntu Linux, OpenSUSE, or for e.g. Linux Mint.
