What are Domain and Pattern Blockers?

Domain Blocker #

The Domain Blocker is enabled by default. It blocks based on DNS requests (the Domain Name Service to resolve a domain to an IP address). The Domain Blocker can also be used without activating the eBlocker HTTPS function.

Pattern Blocker #

The Pattern Blocker recognizes patterns (like *tracker*.php) in URLs and domains. For these blockers the activation of the eBlocker HTTPS function is necessary.

Block list formats #

eBlocker is capable of handling different formats of blocking lists which are described here.
